G'day folks!

I passed my DAS about 6weeks ago and eager to get onto 2wheels again, even if just for a weekend. I don't want to buy a bike just yet so figured a weekend rental would be the way to go. I've had a search around and found a few places but I have a problem, none of the places I can see offer early/late collection or delivery.

The problem is that if I were to hire a bike for a weekend from any of these guys, I would have to take time off work to drop it off on the Monday (having collected on the Sat). Or I'd need time off on the Fri to collect and time off again on the Mon to drop off...

....I know there's a fair few bikers on here and I can't be the only one that has encountered this problem before so really looking for any advice or links to rentals that offer early/late collections??

Stab in the dark I guess....

It does mate but the ones I can find local to me are only open 9-4.30 Mon-Sat so as I work usually 8-6 I can't pickup on a Fri or drop off on a Mon without taking time off. Makes me wonder who hires bikes!

Was hoping I guess that someone might know a place that maybe doesn't come up on the searches, etc. I was recommended a place by my bike school which is cheap but unfortunately has the same problem with opening hours....

Well i would think that would pretty much be opening hours for anywhere i cant see anyone being open after 6

If I were you I would get a cheapish 600 as my first experience following me passing my test was doing a simple manoeuvre which ended up with the bike falling on me

Or go straight for a 900 like i have :D

seen that end in tears sooooo many times!.Worked at a Yamaha dealers for a year and the amount of new riders that bought R1's etc and ended up in a ditch within a couple of months was unreal and quite scary.

Gonzo...the above is no reflection on all riders, just my experience, and no disrespect intended :)

Yeah its cool ive heard of that as well and know others that have said it but i would like to think that with my maturity and sensibility i would fair a little better than those (touch wood) I am aware of what a powerful bike she is therefore i havent even had her over half throttle yet. Tbh scares the shit out of me the abilty of a blade after i thought i had driven some fats cars.

My 600ninja was pretty quick for a first timer as it had had a few tweeks. They do get a jog on pretty quick and could see how people can get out of there depth. Personally I consider myself a safer biker than car driver although I do have a habit of doing shoulder checks when I drive now.

Problem with the hire times for me is that I work in the City so a lunch hour wouldn't be enough to pop out to pick up/drop off. Plus there's the issue or parking at work...there is none!

Think I might have to just buy one of ride a mate's whenever I can....bit disappointing though....
