Funny enough he likes mine and it has no funny noises! lol And the disc's are pretty new and seem ok.

its only something daft surely . can you get it to make the noise with car in the air.? from the vid i'd suggest abs catching or wire or even braided brake line rubbing somewhere.

sounds like a Rubber friction sound not sure how the front drive shafts move on that car ... but lube up the CV boot gators

yeah it sounds like metal on metal but i have changed the drive shafts and the noise went for a few days but has now come back. It's really got me stumped. and no mellowyellow it wont make the noise on the ramp

My r32 made this noise when vw left the wheel nuts loose, only quarter of a turn but still enough to make that kind of noise.....

Alternatively, those big brakes aren't pushing the backing plate onto the disc are they...?

Or are the wheels supposed to have those plastic inserts in to locate them on the hubs?

Or (last one) are the aftermarket wheel nuts new? And if so are they tapered correctly for the alloys.....?

Just my thoughts :)

no i ment the CV Rubber boot the Bellows when its on lock they can tuch each other and would give this sound ...

i dont know what you mean MarkDerby? may be me being a bit thick :)

And Blackpool-Z32 the wheel nuts are new but the noise was there both and after new nuts being fitted, I have checked the back plate and it all seems clear plus they are the standard brakes so should have ampal clearance. And there is no sipgot rings in place could it be these missing cause the noise?

I will get these checked asap. Thanks

its defo ur problem buddy, heard it many many times, owned 9 imprezas over the years, would still be in 1 if i hadnt had a shot of a z... but anyway.... its defo ur problem bud

It could be worth trying another set of wheels on if some are available??

If the wheel doesn't sit snug on the hub then it's relying on the wheel nuts to keep the wheel in place.....? Not saying that's your problem but an easy one to eliminate if checked against a set of standard rims....?

:)

idealy if they are dry u want to remove em and grease them up and refit... but u can use wd and a straw and give em a good soak in place,.... theres bound to be advice somewere if u use google.... search impreza sway bar bush noise or something
