Steering?

Okay power steering is still heavy..had Energy Suspension bushes fitted and this is when symptons started to show. Steering is fine one minute..heavy next. Mechanic spotted a wire "hanging" and going nowhere when he fitted bushes. Now whether he's knocked something off and cant put it back cos he's stupid I have no idea...but I've heard that the speed sensor can cause havoc with steering. Is this true? Thanks guys.

If its an import, this is usually the fault of the MPH converter. If its a UK car, the speed sensor it the prim suspect.

It's a 1990 Jap import..already had MPH conversion fitted. Where's it located and could this be the fault? Anyway of testing it?

Thanks peeps

This problem occurs on Jap car more than the UK. The reason is it's the speed converter sending confusing information to the ECU becuase the powersteering is speed sensative.

If it was the speed sensor, the ignition light flashes when you start up the car and the speedo plays up.

I dont know if it means a new MPH convertor or just check the connections on it.

Some one else will be able to answer that.

Thanks...no flashing lights though I must admit just lately the POWER light keeps coming on and at times when running low speeds. Gear changes pretty eratic at times too...any ideas who do a good conversion and how much? Thanks peeps.
