Yeh gutted, I`m 99% sure its the age of the plastics and the sun direct on them, I should have turned my car round the other way at its in full sun all day, I`m sure its a common problem

seen it on a few zeds recently. Are they proper 99 spec :(

they are (were) Fakey 99 specs that I made myself but a genuine light up center panel :crying:, thank fook its not my real 99 specs on the vert!! I bet you pissing yourself laughing ,lol

no not at all mate. i would be pissed. but now you can tell your wife that you must get some 99 spec ones. mine have been in the sun for the past 4 years and till mint.

Like you said must be the age and they have gone brittle :(

Not good. I wonder whats caused that - expansion? As you know mine has been outside for a while and (touch wood) no problems.

I'm pissing myself laughing :lol::lol::lol:

Only joking mate, thats awful :( :( cant believe its happened so quickly! Look on the bright side, when you sell your mozart paintings or whatever they are you'll be able to buy loads of new sets :thumbup:

The same thing happened on my first zed. I always thought it was due to a change in temperature

Could be mate, we probably need to do a poll and see whos have cracked and why , and hopefully save others going crazed ;)

It happened to mine last year perhaps they had been taken off and the not very flexible sealant hardens or the units tightened too much so there is no flexing at all so something has to give and with the brittle plastic being the weakest link "cracking".Is there a scientist with the reason?

That as gone bad very bad quickly Daz, hard to believe as you say there were mint when you pulled it out :confused1:

You say your tails have gone the same but no pics of these :detective:

Seen an unusual increase in thiS very problem, in fact at the workshop we had a customer call in last week who garages his zed over winter and when he came to get ot out last week all three panels at the back had gone real bad, so this was inside, not a heated garage but still out of the direct elements...bizzare, must be temperture change, have noticed on my 5 year old 99 spec lights a couple of small marks that could be the start of it......hope not !

That's shocking Daz. It's the one thing that lets the zed down. I've only got a little bit of crazing here and there but it doesn't half draw your eyes to it. :sad:
