help how to get air out the cooling system

Featured Replies

Jay,

I believe one of these two may be your answer

1. Some guys on TwinTurbo.net reccommend starting the car and allowing it to idle for a while with the radiator cap off. Please do not remove the radiator cap while the car is running or hot as you are very likely to get burned. I recently had a small leak and did this a few times when I filled the radiator.

2. The other option seems to be to run the car with the heater all the way up.

Hope that helps (If you ment, the Airconditioning system them please disregard my post)

On the other side of the rad from the pressure cap you'll see a small plastic screw with a crosshead. Unscrew that (when cold!!), start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. If engine is warm you can unscrew it SLIGHTLY and any steam will escape.

When doing the above methods it helps to have car raised at front, jack it up or drive onto somethin to raise it.
