Autobox prob - need help

Had autobox probs for a while & have just done done the diagnostic & it came up with "Revolution sensor is shorted or disconnected".

How do I fix this, what parts do I need??

Cheers

Oh dear this could spell trouble, if your problems are intermittent loss of drive or/and noise from the box it is most likely that a rebuild is needed, the revolution sensor is slightly magnetic and any metal floating about will stick to it and give an ecu error code eek.gif

Depends really on what your symptoms are with the box got some more info?

Just seems really slow, feels like clutch packs are slipping.

I put my foot down & it takes a couple of secs for the power to hit the wheels - Thought it was turbo lag to begin with, can only describe it as "gearbox lag".

Any ideas??

Cheers for the quick reply

buger me.. there must be something in the air, mine has started displaying these symptoms the last week or so. When first started in the morning/ or after the car has beeen stood all day, ie at work, then it seems reluctant to start moving when drive/or reverse is selected. when you start to drive it appears to be clutch slip, dont tell me this is gonna be a rebuild im skint enough as it is frown.gif

i havent done a diag yet, might try one tomorrow.

i have noticed that the problem goes away after a couple of minutes though.

any more ideas? its gettin worse

ive just done the auto diag and all is fine.

my fluid is not burnt, or smell burned, although i havent checked the level when hot, will look at that tomorrow.

jay, you gettin anywhere with yours?

No progress matey, next job is to check the condition of the autobox filter, see iff there's any bits of clutch gears etc.

When the car is stationary & I switch to D or R the car jerks slightly - anyone have anymore ideas??

jay, ive found the problem with mine.

i reversed off the drive to see a big puddle of gearbox oil this morning.

bollocks!!!!

so the reason i wasnt gettin any drive was that there was no flaming oil in the box.

BUT... i checked the oil when cold and there appeared to be loads in there, i diddnt however check it when hot (was going to do that today), oh well it has been trailered off on a flatback to the garage to be fixed.

bummer.
