Hi Alan,

as an ex-Londoner myself, I reckon the Tower of London is the best attraction in the capital.... So much history, pomp and circumstance in a concentrated area (and right next to the river); it's hard to beat - it what London is really about IMO...

Enjoy your visit to the big smoke mate!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

London dungeons, madam tussaurds, London eye, Natural history museum, Tate gallery.

Really all depends on your tastes mate

forget the dungeons, if you want to be freaked out, go and do the london bridge experience. a guided tour of how and why the bridge was made. then the 2nd part of the tour is going into the recently uncovered catacombs, with actors and lots of jumps, like being in your own saw film. Then head over to china town (leicester square) for a decent meal.

LOL I reckon you'll need to stay a bit longer to fit it all in mate.....!!

LOL, I think you may be correct there mucker !

Why are the wekends so short ?

Alan........

If your going to see the tower of London, which is cool, I would suggest that when your done just take a wander down the river and visit the Tate modern, its only about a 10 or 20 min walk. and you can see a lot of the city of London as you walk on your right. St Pauls is just up the road too.

Or if you like a bit of Impressive architecture, take a wander through the city, its a mad combination of uber impressive buildings, like the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange, Lloyds of London, the Gherkin etc, and just behind all these and in between the streets are a myriad of really old alleys and old shop and bars/pubs... however most, if not all will be closed as it is the weekend.

If you Follow the river for a long walk you can obviously see loads of cool building like houses of Parliament etc, and you do get a great perspective from the river. I also like the London eye and River cruise... you can do them as a deal for both. The river cruise is very interesting and pretty cheap really. Buckingham palace is not too far either.

Natural History museum and the science museum are cool, but I think my favorite in London is the British museum, which is about 4 or 5 hundred yards from your hotel. I have been countless times as it has loads of great exhibits, some of the worlds finest collections of ancient cultures and civilizations http://www.britishmuseum.org/explore/cultures.aspxs , Likewise after the refurb a few years ago is just an amazing space too.

British museums a good day out, entry's free and there's oxford st round the corner for a bit of shopping then through soho, leister square for a drink then through to Trafalgar square then right for Buckingham Palace, left for covent garden or straight over for Westminster abbey and the houses of parliament all depends on what you want to see really

if you like food and drink, pass through Borough Market.. open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.. love the place.. try the champagne cider... take a bag so you can bring some foods home...

Thanks for all the suggestions troops, it was much appreciated !

Time went so quick, we never managed to see or get as much done as we wanted ! Return trip methinks !

If anybody is in two minds whether to see this musical or not, rest assured, you wont be disappointed !! It was fooking brill !!

Music was spot on, very loud which was apt for the content, expertly played by the band and the performers were outstanding !!

David Coverdale did the pre-recorded bit at the start and that set the tone for the full evening !

All blue-tooth aparatus to be removed from your ears, cozman, you look like a dick !! His words, not mine !!:cool2:

Great weekend, hotel, theatre, weather everything !

Few crappy pics, Fiona says thanks as well !
