Detailing recommendations for black paint and engine cleaning.

As above really guys. Never owned a black car before. Paint is only 6 months old so in excellent condition. I am after a really deep shine.

Is "Gunk" the best thing to use on the engine or have any of you come across a wonder product?

Cheers, Daffy.

good luck, you will never be happy when you own a black car. It will look mint for about 2 seconds then a little bit of dust lands on it. black is a pita to keep really clean.

Anything like auto glym Black is really good. loads of other waxes leave swirls etc.

Looks awesome bud. Just oredered some along with some other goodies too.

Looking good Chris.

Daff, you'll have to pop round sometime and we can give her a good going over if you want. The fact that she has a nice new paint job means that she will come up just lovely. We could sort that minor scuff no problem.

I agree with CarMad... black cars are a pain in the ass, they are the most rewarding to clean as they come up with an amazing shine, they look absolutely amazing for about 5 mins, then the tiniest bit of dust lands and you can see it!!!

Had a little clean up under the frunk.

Car was cleaned by 2 bucket method yesterday so gave it a quick detail with Megs NXT. Then used Auto Glym 'ultra deep shine' followed by 'extra gloss protection'. Bonnet came up like this.

Looks a bit grainy because of the grey metallic in the paint.

Run out of time because I'm off out but here's a couple anyhow.

I'll start a new thread with some better pics when it's all done. That's if anyone cares to see them that is.

Stunning condition. really nice. would be nice to see it on some stock mint alloys :cool3:

It is getting new alloys tomorrow bud. Not stock though. Might sell the current ones and buy stock ones for winter wheels.

Thanks Paul and Gary. Pictures don't do it justice, I need to buy a camera and stop using my phone. Used a combination of Autoglym and Poorboys products. I am well pleased with the results.
