I've done it, actually changing the loom is pretty straight forward, APART from one pain in the ass, being a metal bracket that holds the loom on the inside of the bulkhead (above and to the right of the ECU). Now that I have done it, I could easily do another one, but, if you haven't done it before, I would recommend taking the dash out, or at the very least, the glovebox and aircon box. I think there's only one, maybe 2 bolts holding this bracket, and once undone, you can simply remove your old one, pop your new one through then start on plugging things in. I just chopped my old one off as it was *****xed. I still have the mental picture of the bracket, but no photos. Basically, the loom wont budge until you undo that bracket...

Thanks fella as Tesco states "every liitle helps" and this is the info I am looking for:rockon:

Here you go bud a few pics from when i did mine , just as Tudor mentioned , if you pull the wiring grommet out of the bulkhead you can see the bracket that clamps the loom to the inside of the bulkhead

Looking up under the dash you can see the loom but can,t get to the bracket to release it

Remove the glovebox and the section of the aircon system behind it to give access to the bracket , that,ll give you all the access needed to fit the new loom through the bulkhead .

Doing this job now but the air con box doesn't want to come out. I've removed the bolts along the bottom but seems to be stuck top right hand side. Is there a hidden bolt or do I just need to tug it a bit more

Not sure Rob we have not started yet but I guess the others may know why this is.

Dave

Found the problem mate. There is 2 air con pipes that run through the bulkhead into the box. These need to be undone and hopefully the box should come out.

Cracking on with it later, I'll let you know any other tips when it's done

i done this job on mine, i didnt use the aircon so gutted everything i didnt need of it which helped, plenty of patience will see it done.

dan.

Job done, as dan said patience is key.

I did each bit as I removed the old one so I didn't miss any connectors. The only drama I had is trying to run the new maf cable in it's originaL place, I'm still trying lol.

As I have a USA loom there is extra connectors and it's a different size but with a bit of fettling it will be fine.

Give me a shout if you have any more questions mate

Take the internals out and just put the plastic box back in, it helps directs air round the cabin.

Cheers Rob I will tell him:wink:
