Of those that have done a TT conversion, how much did it cost you all in?

I know the engine can be bought for £xxx, but all the extra things that add up when doing a conversion, i want to know about.

Im weighing up the options of TTing my Na, or selling and buying a TT.

Pros of keeping mine...

Its an S4, T reg, great condition, no rust that i can see, last owner for 5 years looked after her properly, Na rear diff etc

Cons of keeping mine..

I'd want to change the wheels, suspension, brakes, maybe a bodykit... I really cant be bothered with doing a conversion!!

Pros of buying a TT.

Fair few for sale, get what i want out of the box, im in no rush so can find the right one.

Cons of buying a TT

Will most probably have rust, wont be an S4, will have hicas.

Advise as to which way to go please.

for the cost of doing a conversion you can get a TT simple as that bud. also a lot less hassle.

Also, if you are picky about it, go and kick the tires, as much as a seller doesn't want you doing it, its in the buyers interest to make sure they are happy with the purchase, just check the major area's, IE: rear sills, front sills,

I think you should stop fooking around and just enjoy the cars you have, I dont think you have enjoyed on single car since you have joined here,

Sell both M3's there crap and look ugly and sell the Na and go out and buy a 99spec TT with all the toys, (spec r) chip it and enjoy it

just do it you know it makes sence. you will proberly have a little ££ left over

Edit: you sold the vert so your half way there

Never selling my M3 coupe, when i get it out on track, it feels like the best car in the world!

Vert money just paid debt off!

One thing to consider is a n/a converted to a tt would probably cost more to insure than a tt from the factory as it would be classed as modified.

Id just tell them it was a TT. Jap import so they must have filled the paperwork in wrong when imported... Lol

a T-reg Z, 1998? - is extremely rare...all but a handull of them in the UK, I would leave it as it is....such a late example would be worth more later on than one thats modified.

If its a TT you want then sell it for a healthy sum and find yourself a Decent TT instead imo.

I'm not suprised you think your m3 is the mutts nuts if you're driving an m3 on the track.... go put in coilovers, adjustable suspension arms, some decent wheels and rubber...bucket seats...twin turbo manual... then your m3 will show itself for the dirty euro trash it is.

im with car mad too don't like m3's. However would you do the conversion yourself as it is relatively cheap I'd say under a grand but then again get a zed that you like and will keep rather than one you will just get bored with and sell or break. Not much is selling anyway for good money so you would struggle to sell the na I would say
