not sure if this works but i am trying to upload two pictures , first shows a pipe i found blanked off with a bolt whilst changing my PCV valves, the second is me trying to point with a screwdriver as to where i am guessing it should go, can somebody clever please confirm for me

 

 

also what is the impact of driving around with the pipe blanked off ( as i have been doing )

fixed, thats your EGR solenoid, has it been deleted, by the looks of that you have also had your AVI's deleted as the other solenoid is present in image 2 with nothing connected to it.

hi Ian , the solenoid with nothing connected is my SBC solenoid , i will plumb that in at some point in the future, thankyou for sorting the pictures for me , much appreciated, sooooooo, back to my original question what does the pipe with the bolt in the end of it do and where should i reconnect it , what is the impact of driving around with it like that

The pipe blanked with the bolt is the vacuum supply to the egr valve, leave as it is, faulty egr valves are a known cause of running issues, having it disabled prevents these issues with no down sides.
