help with wheels please

Hi gang,

I have my eyes on a new set of wheels for the zed.

I currently have 19s. 8.5" fronts, 10" rears. There is absolutely no problem with scraping or rubbing. Infact the fronts could do with 20mm spacers.

The new wheels are also 19s. Only this time, 9.5" fronts and 11" rears. Should i have any issues with this?

Some details:

Bolt pattern 5x114.3

Hub bore 73.1

Offset front +22, rear +25.

If it makes much difference, i have fully adjustable camber arms and tension rods. Not got coilovers yet though, but lowered about 30mm if i remember rightly.

Thanks

you need to do some research and understand what sizes do fit, then use an offset calculator to comapre the differences between a known good fit and your proposed sizes. Also Tire size and how much arch work you're prepared to do needs to be factored.

FYI depending on tire the fronts could be made to fit, rears will be way out

I'll be honest, i'm struggling to figure out a good size fitment for the zed. Mainly because i dont know the recommended/original size.

I take it the set i have listed above are pretty damn wide at the rear?

I've come across a set of Racing Harts. Available in 2 sizes:

Set 1:

Front =19x8.5 +44 offset

Rear= 19x10 +44 offset

Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3

Set 2:

Front =19x9.0 +26 offset

Rear= 19x10.5 +22 offset

Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3

Do either of these sound suitable?

Thanks

hmmm, if im doing my maths right...

Set 1 should be ok at the front, but the back will stick out too far

Set 2 should be ok at the back, but will be lost at the front.

Am i doing this right?

a good zed ET fitments is +35 front and back, that should get your tyres sitting flush with the car, most people opt for either 8.5 front and 9.5 rears, if you want to get some arch work done you can get wider rears, there are arches available that add an extra 20mm at the front as well,

Cheers vodkashots, thats very handy

Best thing you can do BigC is to put the spec of your current wheels and tyres into this calculator. You know exactly how they sit, so when you put the new details in and the comparison comes out you should be able to work out if you will have rubbing or sticking out problems - ie if the calculator says it will not require anymore inner clearance but it will stick out 20mm more then you will know that means you will be sitting flush and have no inner clearance issues.

You've got it the wrong way around, rears from set1 and front from set 2 and you're good

the wheel hunt continues............

Ok, back to the original wheels i was after. I now have a full list of sizes available in 19".

What size (if any) would be most suitable for fronts and rears? I want to fill the arches but avoid arch work if possible...
