The old speedometre in my car was broke so i got a second hand one and fitted it yesterday.

However, it still doesn't work so obviously the problem wasn't the instument panel. I'm thinking it must be a cable or maybe a sensor but not too sure where to start.

The rev counter works as does the temp gauge but i cant tell how fast im going which isn't good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it could be the speed sensor on the gearbox . they do go wrong . theres a tech thread on here from jefftt at zedworld . worth a look to see if yours looks like the faulty one in his thread . if you have a speed converter fitted the problem may lie there.

There is also a resistor in behind the speedow that can go open circiut.
