yesterday i had this same problem but it went away after a couple of wiggles of various connectors

today i had just done about 30 mile when slowing down at a junction the engine went lumpy again.

when i pulled over the right exhaust seems heavier and intermitent(like a v8-10 engine sounds)

left zorst pipes are week and about half the normal pressure is coming out

the car has low power but will still boosts to about 5psi(didnt dare push it any harder)

also while driving the car judders slightly but enuff to notice

can anyone help?what should i look at on my car.

ive done an ecu diag and its 55,,ok

ive just put a new ptu in so i am hoping its not that

anyone????

Poss. injector or coil connectors. When it's running rough try disconnecting the spark plug leads one at a time. When you find the one that doesn't make any difference to the engine note/speed then you have identified the cylinder that could be causing the problem. Then you have to work out whether it's fuel or electrical. Having a Consult/ConZult would help.

andy its number 6 i pressume?the one at the back to the right (near the battery)

when you look at the engine do the right sided plugs run to the left exhaust and vice versa?

or do the right side cover the right exhaust?

firing order - 123456???????

is that right???

Jay,

I had exactly the same problem last year and as suggested then/now it turned out to be a coilpack (number 6). It had just come off slightly but enough to cause the problem.

Good luck

andy also i went through all the plug connectors(disconnecting them)and i didnt see much difference in the car, watever combination.any more ideas m8

I had the same problem on my Z. One of the coil connectors was coming loose under vibration. Every so often I'd have to push the coil connector down to make contact with the coil pack. At idle you can feel the car give a slight judder-one cylinder not firing. I've bought some spair connectors and am trying to figure how to rewire/swap the defective connector...I was almost there but strangely enough the connector hasn't come loose for 3 months now.

You want to try and gently pull one connector out at a time and you should find the defective connector. DO NOT PULL TOO HARD THOUGH otherwise you'll probably make them all break their clips-they're very brittle and are too easily broken due to the heat in the engine bay.

I hope this helps.....it took me 2 months to realise what the problem was.

ive just checked the volts to all the connectors, and they are all fine !

tried disconnecting all the connectors and found that the 1 where there was no change was number 3

right now i no that there is a spark to all cylinders, what is the next procedure and is it hard

im guessing that im gonna have to order some coil packs/maybe injectors
