Newby looking for local help?

Just bought a standard spec '91 import TT 300ZX at the weekend and absolutely loving it. Although everything seems to be ok (except the drivers side e/window relay), i would like to get a full service/once over done for my own piece of mind.

Anyone out there know a good/trustworthy non-bulshit place to entust it to,somewhere around the Bexley/Dartford area or maybe further afield if not?

Also any ideas on the best tyres to fit?

Any helpfull sugestions much appreciated.

Ta.

JeffTT at ZedWorld www.zedworld.co.uk is the man to see but he is located in Tamworth (near Birmingham) so that may be to far but he's worth the trip and I wouldn't let anyone else near my Z....

For the tyres I would recommend Micheldever www.micheldever.co.uk I have just bought my new boots from there;

Eagle F1's X 4, all for the small sum of 379 pounds, Superb tyre and a cracking price. They deliver them to your door (included in price) and it cost me 20 pounds at Kwik Fit to have them fitted.

Give them a ring, they are more than helpful!

Hope this helps,

Matty.

Thanks for the tip Matty.

I've also been told about a company called Silvia Engineering who are a bit more local, anyone used or know about them?

Ta.

Some people love them some people loath them.

I know they are really busy and the turn round time is long. 6-8 weeks I read somwhere on here!! (maybe longer and I maybe wrong!!)

There is Ancaster Nissan who done the turbo replacement on my Z about 3 weeks before I bought it and they have a good reputation, I think the guys name was Darren. They are based in Richmond, Surrey.

Number is: 01634-291500

Give them a call,

But as I said Jeff is worth the trip, I trust him with my Z and know the standard of his work.

I've taken your advice Matty, phoned Geoff and it sounds like he knows what he's talking about, so it's off to ZED WORLD on thursday.

Thanks again.

Nij

Timmy Turbo has a spare drivers side window relay - I know becuase I made his work on Saturday and it wasn't the relay that was broken.

Nij,

Happy to help mate.

Just out of curiousity what was the problem with Timmy Turbo's window, as i think the problem i've got is an intermittent relay, as it worked when i shook it and moved the pins a bit.

Although it may be a wiring fault, so not 100% sure?

Do you know how much for the relay anyway just in case?

Thanks

Nij.

I think Tim's had been sabotaged by a careless alarm installer, looks like in the past he had once had a full closure alarm.

Make sure the motor works both up and down by feeding it 12v direct. Then make sure that the relays work alternately for up/down. If that doesn't work then start looking for wiring problems.

Don't know how much a new relay is, but I'm sure Tim will want to get rid of his spare.

I'm in Essex and I'll take a look at it for you if you're passing sometime.

AndyP,

Thanks for that, i'll have another fiddle with it and come back to you.

Nij.
