Hi All,

I've search the site and look through FAQs and model history etc but can't see anything about LWB and SWB models, however when looking at the cars for sales I notice that some people list their car as LWB and some as SWB.

Whats the deal? whats the different in length? When was each made? Which is regarded as best in terms of handling? Anything else you think I should know!?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Hi mate if your about lincoln I have 3 swb and Baz has 2 lwb so you could take a look for yourself as my sig pic one is a slicktop

I have 3 LWB lol :) ones down the unit near yours :)

Because the two seater ones are so much better mate

Lwb all the , and as for convertibles......in my own opinion they look as ugly as hell and more like a bloody kit car!

Welcome to the forum Matt! I've only ever had LWBs, but would consider looking for a long term SWB as it would fit easier in the garage lol.

Where abouts in Lincs are you from?

I'm in Louth, travel to Lincoln quite often though, your car looks really nice.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

I think I prefer the side view of the LWB.

I dont need the rear seats, I am looking at a Z for a weekend toy / track toy.

I've just ordered a new skoda octavia VRS (company car) so this would purely be a toy.

If I got a 2+2 i'd probably remove the rear seats anyway.

Go for the SWB then. Lighter, less flex, nimbler, quicker. If you think you might get serious about track work, then may want to consider the Slicktop version (non targa), even rarer, but lighter and stiffer again, plus meets FIA rules, which the Targa does not. If not then the targa model is easier to find and is nice for the summer.

btw - when looking at different models, the quickest and easiest way to see if its LWB or SWB is the fuel filler flap locaiton. On the SWB its forward of the Rear wheel (see my sig) , and for the LWB is it behind the rear wheel.

Buy a Skyline GTR :whistling:

Ugly looking car and about double the cost of a Z!
