Hi as above does anyone know the weight of an OEM 2+2 hatch is.

depends what you mean? from where it seals to where you would mount the spoiler? from where it seals to where the top of the hatch is up by the hinges? or when its open from where it seals to the top of the hatch?

The tailgate must be at least 50kg I would of thought. Just need a better figure if poss?

yeah well it is variable.. mine was wiper deleted too. no trim. nothing except glass attached. good luck.

Well when we took mine off the spoiler was full of water and I'd guess it was somewhere between 2 and 3 tons lol nah prob around 25-30kg ish

I'm weighing one tomorrow without it all packaged up for courier purposes....needs to be under 30kg complete or its pallet time!!

I sent a SWB Tailgate to Portugal. It was 35kg with Glass and OEM spoiler..

Interesting so a safe bet is between 35 and 40 for a lwb.

 

Let me know Cobben if poss as I want to see how much weight ill be saving with the carbon hatch.

Unless a stock hatch is lighter than a 'one finger lift' carbon fibre hatch, I think you'll be ok mate

 

 

Is it fitted yet and did the rear strip survive?

Yea all in one piece mate even with the eventful drive home in the snow.

 

It's deffo a lot lighter I'm just curious by how much more than anything.

LWB tailgate with no spoiler, no trim & no wiper/mech weighed 31.2Kg

 

Just over most courier limits but close enough to get away with :)

If this is for a quote for UK to UK postage, why not just send it via https://www.paisleyfreight.com/, they offer a one off fee for a tail gate which is £25 door to door next day, i sent a LWB one via them, there was no weight limit, it just says "tail gate"

 

If you go on there website and click Book now, it will give you a list of parts and prices. very good service, ive used them a lot and saves on having to weight the bloody thing.
