Just wondered what the advantages are bypassing the water hoses when removing the plenum as i might tackle this my self as i have heard that most of you seem to be doing this if you haven't already. Would also like to know what to change whilst its off ie gaskets hoses ect..Any advice would be gratefully recieved..

you will see when taking it off, you have a few old brittle tiny hoses to deal with if you want to put it back on with out doing the by pass.

the other advantage is you move any potentially leaking pipes away from problem areas and end up with ones that are easy to get to with out taking the plenum off.

the plenum pull is actually quite easy especially if you are doing the by pass as you can just get rid of the small pipe work under the plenum so less to worry about when refitting it. but what i will say to anyone thinking about doing it. is make sure you get a lower plenum to upper plenum gasket. as most likely you will find the old one will rip and stick to either one when removing. and the last place you want a air leak is between those two after you have refitted it.

Also make sure you get a good quality by pass hose for the bypass, ive had both left and right blow on me, luckily when i wasnt to far from home so i could get home with out damaging anything.

Do you know where to get good ones ie gasket and hoses from.

Mike Feeney at MJP in the traders section for the gasket/s matey, top bloke, and any motor factors for the hose really, just get the correct inside diameter with quite a meaty wall water hose, not dead thin silicone hose/vacuum hose...
