Hey colky, welcome to the madness of 300ZXs.

For this - and your post about servicing - you've come to the right place. Not that I know anything technical but I do know that if I had found this forum when I bought my Z in 1999, I would have saved a lot of dosh.

My personal rules are:

Nico talks a lot of sense - nothing more than Stage 3 unless you are or know a trustworthy tuning guru.

Find as local a guru as you can - I think there are a few forum members in East Anglia.

If you tune without experience or knowledge, have a major league wallet.

If you don't have a major league wallet, keep to the service intervals in the manual and don't tune anything unless you're absolutely sure!

A nice place to start would be to go to Billing and meet some of the guys (27th / 28th this month) - see what they think and see what they've done.

Cat Back Exhaust and induction kit are DIY but then it depends on your ability with very techy cars that don't like to be messed with. If you are ok with cars then great just know your limit!

find a guru and let them do the work, its worth it. dont tinker with these beasties cos they bite real hard, unless you know what your doing. have fun though,we all do.

who to trust is the problem ,like with servicing never taken a car for a service always did it my self at least i knew it was getting top quality oil and other bits.but with these bigger motors{zeds} i really dont want to touch to much, maybe the basics, but who is good? dont mind traveling if the job is top class. any one know of any good garages near norwich way?

These are good ones that I let touch my 300 but some maybe too far away from you.

Zedworld in Tamworth - Excellent.

Coop Motors Nissan in Burton on Trent - Excellent.

Not sure about any closer to you in Norwich though.
