I normally stick another bolt in the hole and belt it with a hammer mate. Looks like the first second one is going to give you a bit of grief though. iirc I had the bolts so they were at the front. It was easier to get them out.

I was thinking exactly the same thing mate, for whatever reason Nissan have put them in so that they don't have the space to be removed, if they were the other way round it wouldn't even be a problem. I've eventually managed to lever the traction arm off but the bolt is still in there, at least the DW kit should go in pretty easily though. That other one (eccentric bolt I think it's called) is a complete pain in the arse, after a closer inspection I think there's a washer that if rotated will marry up to a groove in the thread of the bolt, so hopefully a set of grips will hold it steady whilst I turn the bolt and slide the washer off.

It's never easy with these motors is it

Well both of those bolts are sorted, now I'm trying to get the rear disc off, something seems to be fixing it in place (is there a retaining screw or something that I've missed?)

any suggestions?

Have you got your handbrake on?

If not, you may have to rotate the disc so the little hole is at 6 O'clock, then using a flat head screw driver, wind in the adjustment for the handbrake so the shoes release the disc...
