Well following on from a few post im still have poor starting issues. I thought i had sorted it by changing the MAF but the fault seems to of returned. Ill start by saying what i have done.

compression test all good. (170 all 6)

replaced MAF

S2 PTU

No boost leaks

temp senor changed last year but was from an auto factors

new engine wiring loom

cleaned and tested all 6 injector's and new seals

new battery

I have noticed that the car seems to start better when in the garage but is harder to start when outside. The engine turns over fine (not slow) and once the car is running it runs lumpy for about 15-30 secs then clears its self and runs fine. strangly if left for say a week it seems to fire straight up but if over night its harder to start. also has blue smoke on start up not a huge amount. Am i looking at steam seals?

Any help would be great as its doing my head in now.

If I recall,

Has your car been standing for a while?

Mine had the same problem after several years on axle stands.

I disconnected the pipe work to the cold start valve and sprayed a liberal amount of WD40 in there, seems to have been OK since

just a wild stab. but do zeds have ignition amplifier problems?

not heard of that mate, what is it? I only know the stuff I've dealt with it that makes sense.lol

i know other cars have these. its only because i've seen ad for a z that had problems with an apparent ig amp problem. so thought i'd kill two birds one stone. just put it out there as 1 a possible route

2 to see if z have them

Just a thought but when I had my recent episode with my car not starting, Jeff told me about a car with a simular problem. The first time it started, it ran lumpy for the first 10 seconds then was fine for the rest of the day. They worked it out to be the Fuel pump ECU.

Nuce and easy to swap out and test.

Yes, that's the PTU (Power Transistor Unit) Series one is known for failure, but series 2 (which ellodave has) is very reliable...
