With all my contacts i cant seem to find anywhere that does decat pipes for the shorties. From what i know downpipes and backboxes are the same for SWB and LWB but it all gets a bit different for decats.

 

Also LWB has the X pipe bit in it to make up the extra length. So are the decats for LWB and SWB the same or where can i get hold of decats pipes for a shorty turbo?

but the shorties dont have mid sections just downpipe, decat then backbox.

 

I had a feeling the decats would be the same then it would just be the X pipe or test pipe as they are called in the US that the LWB needs to make up the extra length

SWB's have the H-pipe / X-pipe (mid section) too, although some aftermarket exhausts may integrate the mid section and backboxes into one. Its not a difference of missing sections, its a completely different route the pipes take after the cat back,

 

Essentially : Front half of exhaust is same. Catback is all different.

For the downpipe/decats were fine since all the same (even if sellers dont realise and list as 2+2 only)... , but finding Catback SWB exhausts in the UK is a big problem. Nobody makes them or sells them, unless you go custom. 2nd hand is the most viable option(from those that come over from Japan), but even then its a rarity.

 

The other option is to buy from the States. Any 300zx exhaust listed for the TT is a SWB exhaust in the U.S

Ah great stuff cheers ill have a word to Jap Slapper and see if the Top Speed ones he took off are the combined type then all i need is downpipes and decats :)
