Just looking at option about manual conversions for NA supras and R33 GTST skylines. What sort of price do they go for and is it engine in job also how long and how much of a PITA.

Ive been looking at a Aerotop Supra you see and cant decide between that or a R33 GTST as a run around.

I would have a supra anyday over a skyline. they look really old now imo.

I should imagen the convertion is done with the engine in place. there is tons of room to work with :)

The autobox on the Mk4 is actually very good i dont think you would need to convert tbh, ive had 7 soops and if you want a nice comfortable ride on stock then dont change it.

If your gonna start chasing power might aswell just buy a GZ (TT aerotop) and be done with it.

Personally I would go for the Skyline - I dont really like the look of Supras but thats just my opinion.

The other thing to consider is the GTST is going to be far more tunable than a NA Supra so if you want to start tweaking it the Supra is going to be very limited being an NA compared to the Skyline

Guys my zed is for chasing power with the big spec but while it is off the road i wanted to still have a thrilling car rather than going about everywhere in the truck. Hence my limit of 3k too its not gonna take the place of my zed never :)

Mate just go for an NA I think you will be suprised. Power delivery is good and gear change is smooth and if you just want it for a stand in and tourer you wont be dissapointed.

Oh Lynbrook will swap my policy straight onto the Supra too with a refund of £7.50 :) Just checking out the skyline

Have a look at aristos, cheaper than supers and have a boot and more doors for more...,

Got a truck for more doors  i think ive seen aristos before after hearing about them and just thought no :(

Oh Lynbrook said they will insure the skyline for the same price as my zed now that is interesting :)

the supra is heavy and gutless...(a mate of mine had one... sold it again after three months). so it really depends on what you want it for....

showy or for fun... :) (fun would be the skyline)

I'd have the skyline over the Supra any day. The skyline looks mean whereas that Supra just looks soft and lame and will get destroyed by the Skyline performance wise.

2JZ the Hilux....simples

Has to be the supra with the oem kit on and a front lip. Its a proper nice car to drive and the auto box is really really nice and im not an auto fan.

Seem funny how everyone these days always go on about power. Its a Gt car and does everything as it should, The skyline is a chav wagon and will be ragged to within an inch of its life.

Here is my supra 1000X better than the boxy skyline

Well at the moment neither skyline of supra forums seems to be any help lol Even posting a newbie post and i get 1 reply we have a much better forum here

That does look a whole lot better than the standard Car.Mad, really nice in fact.

How long will you have it for Gonzo? You don't want to be doing alot on it if you are doing up the Zed do you?

I had no idea supras were that cheap now. I'd be lying if I said I didnt want one!

Yeah but that's because they're all out actually driving their machines mate, as opposed to sitting on their arses with a laptop telling each other how much they idolise their rusty old Datsun's, every single day :whistling:

well at least a year i dont plan on doing anything to it and wont need to sell it because im short of cash or something so can just keep it going. I just cant bear to not have a sports car for a year so need something for the appetite. Ill still have the silver zed to come to zed meets anyway if it doesnt sell when im ready

thats my dilema Baz lol can get a far better looking supra than a skyline for the money as somehow skylines are just full of idiots that drive them and rag them lol. There is a Skyline for sale in Lincolnshire Baz however usual thing he claims 400bhp with no performance mods listed or dyno which puts me off everytime
