Diagnostics cable connector

How many pins does your OBD plug have? Mine has space for 14 but only 8 are present, is that normal?

What's the small dial on the front of the ecu with the flat head screwdriver adjuster?

Can anyone help me out on this one please? Need to know if my loom has been modified or not, cheers

My cable has pins missing and 8 seems about right, without going outside to count them. I'm presuming you're talking about the one near the bonnet pull?

I believe the dial thing is to turn the ECU into diag mode. There should be an LED near it.

Yes mate thats about right

Pin

Number Pin

Name Description (may be empty)

1 RX (TX?) Data in

2 TX (RX?) Data out

4 ABS ABS diagnostic

6 CHK Check to ECCS

7 +12v Power

8 GND Ground

The pot on the side of the ecu is set it into diagnostic mode and reading the flashes on the dash light
