My stereo sounds a bit tinny and rubbish.

The head unit is ok - it's a Sony one a few years old but I still think that's not the problem as it was 200 odd quid when it was new.

The speakers are originals in the front and some very nasty cheap ones in the back which I put in when one of the original rear ones stoped working.

If I was going to replace the speakers, are the front ones easy to get to? I remember the back ones were easy, just pry the cover off.

Any recommendations for speakers? JBL 6x4 seem to be popular from a search for the rears. I don't know anything about speakers and stereos but I'd like it to sound better. I don't want bigger speakers which take up more space other than the original pods if I can avoid them.

I guess I could take it to a car audio place and get them to do it all but I'd like to try myself if I can and accessing the front ones isn't too hard.

Thanks in advance!

Im selling my rears on my breaking thread :) JVC or JBL i forget have to look but they are a very nice sound :) think i have JBL on the fronts but not selling those the sound though is outstanding for the size of them :)

I replaced all the speakers in my z32. I can't remember what the rears wee but the front ones are fli as when tested they had a bit more thump than alternatives that were available...... Jbl are always good though.

If I remember rightly, it's door cards off for fronts....? Someone correct me if I'm wrong though :)

Thanks. Are the door cards easy to remove / replace? I'm a numpty and most of my tools are at my wife's place.

I don't want to end up with the door card hanging off, if it's tricky I'll have to let a car audio place do it.

all you need is a cross point screwdriver and maybe a flat point too :) oh actually and a 10mm and 8mm socket i believe for the door pillar
