Adjustable upper and lower arms question?

Just a thought, but if you've got the full Driftworks adjustable steering and suspension package is this possible:

When you fit 9" wheels up front with an offset of (ET +45) you will normally require a spacer to make the wheel sit flush with the arch (this will affect the feel and handling), however, is it possible to adjust all of the upper and lower steering and suspension components to effectively negate the use of the spacer (ie. literally 'push' the wheel further out) in order for the wheel to sit flush with the arch?

I believe the Driftworks kit offers 20mm-25mm of adjustment.

Cant see why not, I would be a little concerned though having them on full extention if you were doing heavy driving, Ive already had a driftworks rear camber arm snap at the rose joint on me before, scared the crap out of me when the wheel collapsed in the arch!

Im not sure I would trust that kind of set up tbh?

As above! You will be pushing the arms to their limit. It's a good question tho, I'm fitting all the DW arms before she's back on the road in March and have also wondered about things like this but then I'm running 8.5 up front. Do they make a big difference to the handling of the car? I've also got the Apexi coilovers to go on too. I suppose a good geometry set up will be needed too?

It was just something that I'd wondered, but yeah I see the point that in thoery it can be done but in practice it's probably not the best option. Maybe a small amount of adjustment (10mm or so would be fine).

I can't say how they effect the handling as I've only ever test fitted them but never driven with them fitted.

This actually leads me to my second question with regards to the Driftworks HICAS replacement kit

All of my DW parts were test fitted to the LWB (now all removed) and I was wondering, I noticed that the HICAS arms on the SWB look slightly different to those that were on the LWB.

The LWB was also an earlier UK model with hydraulic HICAS whereas the SWB is obviously a later model import with the electronic HICAS. The arms on the SWB look to be at an angle, and very different to the DW HICAS kit (I'll get some pics up later to help explain).

Does anybody currently have the DW HICAS kit fitted to a SWB TT and does it fit and feel ok?

Yes I have the DW full Hicas kit on mine and apart from being a pig to fit due the outer hicas bushes and getting them out, it fits fine and tbh is the best mod ive done so far for handling.

so yes no problem with you fitting it at all.
