only problem with the BMW is the costs if anything goes wrong. but other wise a good reliable work horse, no matter if a majority of the time some donk drives one lol (no offence to any BMW drivers on here :))

Not worth £750 in my professional opinion, id be looking more along the lines of 400-500 irrelevant that its a diesel or BMW because at that age they will be a risk

I have a vectra on a 51 plate for sale and im only looking for around 500 for it

got ba little tax and moit on it

I really dont like the seating position in these. Its all offset. Running costs are just the same as any other car now ebay is here lol!!

i got a celica a few months back!, cheap on fuel never look back reliable as a dog!, btw Tazz my mrs got exact same vectra sorry!

Agree with Sir Charles totally. It's a £300 car really. Have a good look around.

got a celica for sale! lol

want me zed back on road so will have no use for it!

TBH, french diesel. All the trim will have fallen of but they just dont go wrong. The later HDI models have a bit more stuff to go wrong but they are still cheap to fix!

My sister has a 306 1.9d she bought from a mate of mine for £350, its done 160k, passed its MOT first time and never misses a beat, does 50mpg or so. Does great for her a cheap run about!

Will agree with this statement, if you are after a very cheap run around, you cant go wrong with a Citroen xantia, not the best looking of cars, but cheap as hell and if you get the diesel with a bosch pump instead of a lucas pump, you can run it on pure rape seed oil at considerably cheaper cost than diesel.

Here here, i sat in a mate's that he had and your legs, hands and arms are all over the place and sit at an angle - all very odd :)

My brother has exactly the same car picked it up for £400 as a run around for use when taking the dogs out or doing dump runs etc save messing up is £15k 6 series BMW (GIT) lol but he treats it like crap and it keeps on coming great motor as a work horse.

BMW's are great when they are going, but if you're tight on cash i wouldnt touch one with a pole because they really arn't cheap to fix when they break, as they say the more tech there is the more there is to break, thats what made the classic mini such an amazing car... so easy to fix... infact we once changed a wheel on my old mini on the roadside.... the 3 passengers held the corner up while i changed it because i had no jack lol.

So by that logic a Z32 91 plate is worth £20 :tt2:

So by that logic a Z32 91 plate is worth £20 :tt2:

Not the same because a 3 series is mass produced and very unremarkable whereas a 91' Z32 was made in smaller numbers and is a desirable weekend car

Thats why i would never rate the M3:sad:

lol @ the shite thats being recommended here as alternatives to a Bmw Diesel, and crazy prices.

True they are getting on a bit now, and any cheap diesel is a risk on a low budget though. Many used car dealers wont sell older/cheap Diesels, because of the cost to repair from something like a failing fuel pump system.

I believe its the Coupe thats offset, rather than the saloon.

Although Most cars re-manufactured for RHD suffer from this, some more than others. And some people seem to be more sensitive to it than others.

Agreed! I wouldn't bother with a diesel at all for a cheap car - I'm even considering going back to petrol myself (now got 160k on a 320d, do 25-30k/ year) after 2 failed injectors and an impending turbo replacement...

That said, my missus has a Citroen Picasso which gets abused constantly (little servicing) and has been problem free for about 6 years now, with the exception of a failed p/s pump (I replaced for about £50 - pattern part)... the HDi engine is pretty bulletproof (except cam belts).
