I've come across an unexpected problem, where the hell are you supposed to fit an Accusump in a SWB?

It wasn't a problem with a LWB as there's plenty of room behind the seats (and there was no passenger seat anyway)

but in the shortie' with both seats fitted, there's bugger all room.

There's no room behind the seats as the cage needs to go in there, so the only place that I can see is either in the boot or on the small shelf directly behind the seats, though the braided hoses would need to be rediculously long and surely the Accusump would need to be as close to the engine/sandwich plate as possible

Using the shelf would cause other problems in that the cage and harnesses get in the way, and I need this shelf to fit the extinguisher

short of binning the lift up arm rest in the centre and locating it there I can't think where to put it

any ideas??

what about moving the battery to the boot and using that location for the sump?

Too small believe it or not, it's a big old pump mate

If the length of the hoses didn't matter too much then it could go in the boot, but I'm not entirely sure how the extra few feet of hose would effect it?

It's got me stumped that's for sure

Mines on the rear shelf behind the seats along with the fire extinguisher. It's the big 3.5 litre one too and I have a cage, all fits fine. Length of the hose isn't an issue as the accusump pushes 3.5 litres whether its from the accusump itself or from the accusump and hose doesn't really matter just longer hose means you'll have to put more oil in when you fill up.

Parcel shelf is fine, that's where I've seen most of them plumbed in, just make sure it's secure!

Cheers fellas

that's sorted then

Just bare in mind when drilling any holes for mounting it that the fuel tank is under there somewhere!!

What the hells an accusump??:blushing::surrender:

it's a big pressurised bottle of oil, plumbed into your oil sump.

With the aid of pressure sensors, if it detects your oil pressure dropping( eg during a long high speed turn) it will release contents of the bottle, at pressure to help keep engine oil pressure and avoid engine failure.

You should have enough room behind the strut panel right behind the passenger seat surely?

That way you could run the lines down the transmission tunnel?
