Fitting Turbo timer with TOAD Alarm??

My 300 currently has a TOAD Ai606 installed (keeping Insurance Company happy!)I would like to fit a turbo timer but not sure whether the alarm will let the engine run after alarm armed. If it can, any recommendations on Turbo Timer???

When i purchased my 300zx, i had the same alarm fitted as you before i took the car away. There was a Greddy Turbo Timer fitted in the car at the time, but the fitter said it had to come out because it did allow the engine to run bypassing the immobiliser. i Haven't really pursued it any further.

I have an alarm fitted to mine and also a turbo timer. When I turn the ignition off the timer runs it on for a while and during that time I can lock the doors but the alarm wont set. I have to wait for the timer to turn the engine off before I can arm the alarm. Timer saves the turbos and equates to a £2k+ repair for damaged turbos. The alarm saves the car - inconvenience of loosing it completely.

Patience is required when finishing a journey.

I have blitz TT and the Ai606, and there is no way to get it to not unlock the doors as it switches the ingnition off, I have the engineeers setup for the alarm and have tried everything to no avail, I just sit and wait.

Thanks for replies chaps. My conclusion is that I should fit the turbo timer. But will have to be patient and wait the 5 minutes to arm the alarm. Not a major problem as I only drive my Z for pleasure (OK posing) and not everyday journeys...

cheerz, Alex

I have the same alarm and a HKS Turbo Tinker and it wont arm, hates the alarm and the alarm hates the turbo tinkerer so I just drive real slow for a mile before I get home.

so anybody any idea which timer to use for least hassle fighting with alarm???

insurance companies are not too bothered about alarms these days,as i have found recently

personally i dont use 1,if you have a break in id rather not claim on my insurance anyway, i dont no about you?

if someone is gonna grab some gear out of ya car then no alarm is good enough no matter how loud/good it is?

i just have a really top notch immobilizer which does me fine with my timer

i also use tracker but thats only cos i will not let anyone take my car away(ive spent too much on it)

unless ya gonna fill ya car with thousands of pounds of expensive audio gear then why bother with something that people dont even take notice of when it goes off?

Thanks Jay & 300ZX,

Yep, I agree if anything needs doing I tend to get it done outa my own pocket and not via the insurance company!! Must say a tracker is something I've considered.

Will contact Smithy and price up a Blitz turbo timer.
