Mate you better get those back off !! you shouldnt run ball bearing turbos without restrictors in the oil lines. The oil flow will overcome the seals and burn on the exducer wheel. You should have braided oil lines with a restictor that screws into the turbo. You remove the metal oil pipe on the passenger side and run the pipe straight from the blocks outlet,so you,ll need to relocate the oil switch to the plugged outlet on the oil filter tree.On the drivers side do NOT use the banjo as it has a restrictor in it,its marked with a "K"on its head.the oil line should screw into the block using a right angled adaptor.

When you do my build I'm sending you my tubs to bolt on and do the oil lines!!!!

there is a Restricter in the turbo is self .. with about a 1.5m hole ...

looks like a grub screw in the main hole with small hole in it ..

the braided lines i have all so have the restricter in there but they dont fit the engine side

and i have tried a few oil line places and they can not supply the correct fittings ,,

all so they have uprated oil seals in them that i payed for

will take an oil line off and take a pic to show u

Ive just priced up a gt600 tub kit from z1 which bolts straight up and comes with everything needed to fit including gaskets, oil lines, water hose and boost pipe and it comes to............... approx £1600 shipped, add £150 import and your around what you payed anyway. So in effect you saved nothing and caused yourself aggro faffing around making them fit :pinch:

this is a restricter right ? ..

No mate its not, thats huge in turbo oil feed terms.Do you have shares in an oil company because your gonna burn oil quicker than Piper Alpha. The hole in the restictor is around a 16th of an inch so tiny.

ok heres what i have .. got two braided lines .. driver side is fine both ends fit turbo end has the restricter same as in the pic

in the pic i have the sender unit that is female and then the braided line that is all so female

but the L bend they have supplied me only fits the oil line ..

not the sender block ...

IMAG0455-1.jpg

edit just noticed that this block has a restricter in it .. but

looks like to have the same thread on the Sender its self as the L Bend ...

  • Author

just taken sender off and the L Fits but this all leaves a problem as the sender will not fit and need to block the hole ..

  • Author

ok i got it ... but this then totaly removes the sender block and pipe then .... least i dont need any other adaptors .. will just re-locate the sender on the oil filer ..

Cheers ...

This is what i said a few posts ago !! youll need to relocate the switch.extend the wire along the crossmember,on the filterhead youll see a small bung, undo it and plumb the relocation kit in.i will find you a link to a kit ive used before,

  • Author

thanks again ...

i must of missed that post

the Stock sender i'm not to fussed about as i have a Pod one installed and its all plumbed in to

my oil adapter plate ...

the way the stock turbos are plumbed in with standed pipes have restricters too

on the drivers side its in the banjo fitting ...

and passanger is on the sender block

both are the same size hole as the ones on braided lines ...

they are not the same size i can assure you, ball bearings need less lubrication, compare the restrictor hole to the stock lines.it should be way different.

  • Author

ok no probs .. going to stick the braided lines on anyways ..

i can just get to the Oil block with out removing turbo

on drivers side

cheers for the Heads up on that could of turned out bad if u hadn't of noticed

Cheers jimmer
