Ok, so its no Zed, but god I love driving it!

Marc made it shiny again today after a run down to the Midlands at the weekend which got it filthy - 38mpg on the long run, not too shabby!

If anyone knows how to get the stoooopid reflectors off the doors without buggering the paintwork I'd be eternally grateful, they ruin the car!

Very nice Jane.

Depends what the stoooopid reflectors were stuck on with, but most likely the paint won't survive. I'd rip em off anyway and then just get them touched up if needed when you've got some cash.

what about a hairdryer or heat gun?

what about a hairdryer or heat gun?

Probably the best bet.

One of my all time favourite cars, always loved the way they look!

Fingers crossed with this one Jan. There proberly held on with that crap sticky foam stuff. I would use a hair dryer and try and pull them off.

If not get a stanley blade and slide between the body and reflector.

Eaither way you will be left with sticky suff. so petrol on a cloth or nail varnish remover and plenty of scrubbing.

Once done a quick Tcut and a wax and job done, Nice and smooooth baby :)

Cheers all, will try to get them off over the next week or so, it'll make the car look so much less old-manish!

Marc treated the leather seats today, they need a bit of conditioning so if anyone has any products they recommend, feel free!

looks fantastic, especially considering you only paid £500-odd for it!!

Thanks, just £500, its so much car for the money, its unreal!

Needs a polish but am gonna get some of the stuff Harby bangs on about as i've seen the finish on his Zed and its brilliant (and saves me getting arm ache with the Meguiars!)

mates got one too, he bought it for 3 times more than you did and not in as good condition, and of course they are mahoooosive. must be alot more effort to clean this this.

Looking good Jane!!

And 38mpg is very impressive - especially for a 3 litre!! I barely see 30mpg from my SLK, even on a long run:blink:

As for your leather, Gliptone conditioner is very good for restoring the appearance. If it's not too bad, then any reasonable leather conditioning cream will help.

Once it's conditioned, I can thoroughly recommend Zymol leather cleaner. Halfords sell it for about £7 for a small spray-type bottle - it really cleans well, leaves a classy matt finish and restores than nice leather smell....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It is as I'm only a short (fat) ass, I can't reach the middle of the roof to polish it!

cheers Richard, we were pretty impressed with the MPG too. Thanks for the leather tips, its just a bit tired and dry looking so just need to inject a bit of life back into it - will try the Gliptone for this :thumbup1:
