sounds to be like you want to be ropey and swap your VIN plate over.. only you can make that decision.

 

unless your plate is a private plate I doubt that it is transferable (it'll say on your logbook)

hes on about how he can transfer the number plate over not vin plate, so he keeps the same number plate.

Speaking with DVLA is a good idea but be are of raising markers against your car, once informed of the shell swap they will act on it, you really dont want a Q reg if avoidable, a good way to ask is... "if I was going to do a shell change ....." nothing underhand of course, but in the first instance make it a general enquiry only.

I just made a call to dvla and what they said is. Is i want trasfer my number places, i can. Behicle need to by taxed, with mot and insured. After that i neet

D to fill form v317 and this will cost £80. Also i need order £25 logbook because instill dont have. So all this comes together to over £100. I think is way to expensive. Than i will keep same number plate on the the car it is. But acter the conversion dvla will show 78 k mileage on clock but now is got only 64 k on clock and engine.
