LOL... not the price or anything, cmon mate you should be able to see why this wouldn't work on a zx

Sorry I hadn't even looked, I saw the trademe address. 2 mins I'll look

The only reason I can see is that the chambers all meet each other with no apparent separation, but that's not necessarily an issue if it's made well enough for it to all balance out. You'd want some pretty crazy piping though to make it work.

Still not quite getting it.... think about where the turbos on the car are and how the factory side mounts are rigged up... *facepalm*

You want a crack at the title old man?

indeed, BUT, there are several people who run that above type of frontmount, you just have to have all the crazy assed piping to go with it. He should probably explain that in his listing, but then......it is on trademe!

Yeah i think it's rather misleading! That would be some mental piping to make it go.

OR you would be making the R/H turbo leed the L/H bank, either way its making life difficult lol

there is a balance bar for a reason, so i doubt it would matter what turbo was feeding what bank, its just easier with the pipe work for the left hand turbo to feed the right hand bank (plenum crosses them over).

the other thing is, unless you take the FMIC and split it to see whats going on inside. i doubt you can say its pointless using it.

Well yes if left bank feeding right it would work fine.

But people have been buying them thinking they can hook them on in the same way as the other picture i showed, so rather pointless really.

and as i said, unless you can see inside to see whats going on, its a bit pointless saying its pointless, as you cant tell as all we are doing is guessing going by what we see on the outside.

Um, of course you can, you can see how it works from the outside...

wasnt there a post about these intercoolers before some user had fitted one and got the piping a little wrong ... one turbo feeding in to other :)

Yeah, it really won't though. If you just fed the left hand pipes into the left hand side and the right hand pipes into the right hand side, you'd have the top sucking and the bottom pushing, all into the rails which go straight across from side to side, all you'd get on this is a second balance bar, a bloody weird one and no actual boost. You can clearly see the channels go straight from side to side, it wouldn't work. You'd have to pipe the crap out of it, so that the right hand side fed the thing and the left hand side removed the air and took it back to the system, because the air would clash in the middle otherwise, which was ZedZillas point. Essentially as I said, you would need the mad assed pipework that you see on Z's with this type of front mount fitted, to make it work.

I am assuming that it is technically two coolers one on top of other, if you feed left hand in top intake on left, feed to intake on right will then feed from top right of cooler that should work, I may not know most about zeds tts but I have modified enough turbo cars to understand how they work, so I think it would work like that

Somehow... i don't think the fitment is correct for a 300zx... and hes sold a few to zx people too!

Who can spot the problem here....

There are many versions of front mount intercoolers and the one on trademe is a common one on the zed and seems to fit ok, the one on trademe pic is upside down, ironic really if you think about it.
