Hey folks just check out my plans to make sure it is all good. Ok so will this all fit together

NA engine with TT clutch onto

TT G/Box onto

NA one piece prop onto

NA diff

I dont think there`s any problems there? Simply as my G/Box has a tiny bit of noise and i have a TT box so was gonna sling that on instead

Everything from the clutch backwards will be fine, the engine I dunno. I was told the NA and TT boxes were essentially the same, but I think you have to make a small modification where the starter sits?

no thats for when you put a NA box on a TT clutch or TT engine thats been done already

Ah yes, so it is, got that in reverse because of a question I saw the other day about putting an NA box on a TT. I'm sure someone will have a definitive answer, but if the NA box fits a TT with a small modification where the starter sits, I would imagine it'll be the same the other way around, the clutch is the only thing that might be a problem mating up with the engine if you follow the logic?

the only problem i see is if there is a problem mating a TT box to a NA prop but im pretty sure the distance is all the same. I have a TT clutch so the starter motor will sit fine as i have a spacer on at the moment for the starter on the NA box

I don't think you'll have a problem with the box to the prop, as it's a pretty common TT mod to put an NA subframe and diff on and from what I'm told, you need the NA prop too?

yep im on a NA one piece already. I know the prop mounts to the diff are different for NA and TT

Yeah that's my point, from what I'm told, TT Gearbox, to NA Prop, to NA diff works absolutely fine, the only thing I was unsure of in your question is whether the clutch was different between NA and TT and might cause mounting issues?

nope clutch will be fine as its a TT box onto a TT clutch im pretty sure :)

should be fine then :D

let me get this right you have a TT gearbox and want to do this

N/A diff -> N/A Propshaft -> TTgearbox -> TTclutch -> N/A engine?

IF so, then i suggest you check the prop shaft to gearbox spline on the rear, these are different sizes, i had attempted to put a TT gearbox on a N/A japspec and the propshaft was a different size so wouldn't slot into the rear of the gearbox, BUT biggest difference was it was a auto box. so you may be lucky, but best to check

That's probably the difference, because the Manual and Auto Props are different at the gearbox end.

correct that is what i want to do also its manual NA prop and manual TT G/box

then i believe your going to run into problems, the rear prop will connect to the diff, but the front will not connect to the gearbox, you said you have a one peice. Your going to need a TT prop.

Check first though, as yours is a manual box. might be different.

im 99% sure you will be fine. I think the front of the prop is the same - no difference between NA and TT

i am now 100% sure. There is only a difference between NA and TT with the auto box

Are you basing that on manual prop N/A to manual gearbox TT?

because N/A auto prop to auto TT gearbox does not go. trust me i found out after id taken the auto N/A gearbox off the car, also the N/A auto torque converter doesnt go on a TT Auto box, the spline sizes are completely different.

Yup. Manual NA/TT is the same. Auto NA/TT is different
