Iknow the chip will be much cheaper that proper remap but does it make bid difference ? Remap will cost more than £300, chip is just under £100 so what is better?

I'm not 100% on this but I think it depends a lot on just how much has been changed on the car..

As far am I'm aware you can get a stage one or two chip off the shelf and it will be fine...

i guess if you've gone further than that you should really have it mapped.... but again depends on what king of power you want out of it...

well I want to run 450 for stock block stock pistons, but you see some people say stock block can easily run over 500bhp but just need proper remap. I well I think remap on dyno test is suits car engine better that chip, because chip is made to work for every engine, but not all engines is the same. :( I am confused.

Mmmm i think its more about the injectors and other additions... induction exhaust..etc...

I'd go with an off the shelf from Dixon.... give him all your specs and see what he says...

you can get it mapped later, if you feel it still needs it.

Would you prefer a pair of elasticated trousers or a fitted suit? ;D

Properly mapped on a dyno the car will be tested and proven to run within it's fuel and ignition timing limits, just swapping the ROM chip is lucky dip. If you do go that route though John Dixon is widely regarded as the best man for the job.

I'm an advocate of Nistune, love it! I believe John is pretty handy with this as well if you want a proper job doing on the dyno. Settings/maps can be adjusted as and when you apply more upgrades without burning new chips etc.

You're asking quite a lot of a stock motor, fine if everything is running perfectly but I doubt there's many Z's left with everything running A1.

hiya a stock block might run 450 bhp BUT it wont last long. mine was runing 410 bhp for 2 years 16000 miles and pistons let go. 17psi on standerd turbos thay let go just before the engine. full exhaust 555 injectors and a air filter. id recomend uprating the pistons first

custom remap will be taylored to the car every car is differant and will behave differantly to tuning a chip is preset to remove/modifiy certain parameters that have been proven to be safe on other cars with similar mods. A remap is specific to your car and in my personal oppinion is the only way to go for serious reliable power gains.

plus a good mapper will do things like steady state the car to check for det, overheating under load etc... and give you an idea of what direction you need to take to achieve your goals and what is being put under the most strain i.e clutch, injectors, tubs so you will know what to change to make the car more reliable and powerfull

hope this helps your decision, btw id highly recomend fctuning in erith steve really knows his nissans and ive seen him map literaly 100s of cars and hes the only one id let touch any of my cars

I was running about the same boost on hybrid turbos, straight through exhaust, fmic, intake, 555s etc. It was ok when running below 1 bar (approx 360HP and 400ftlb at the fly). Mine eventually spat most of it's oil out at 1.2 bar (estimate about 360BHP) - presumably due to blowing past the pistons. To be fair I had been abusing it for 8 years or so and it did have 118,000 on the clock...

Thanks guys all info its helps me a lot. Well i know for stock block 450bhp is quit a lot but well what to see how long is will work. If something happens i will buy new engine than in will do proper rebuild. So iam thinging with proper remap engine will work good with 450bp also will put pe1420 turbos, 555cc injectors, hks intercoller, 2.5 inch straight exhaust. New fuel pump. Dual air filter, better clutch. With this mods i hope so my car will run 450bhp. If in will do 8000 miles in will be more than happy. Lol :D cheers for help will come back here later with results.:)

hi why dont you just do it properly to start with instead of doing somthing seeing if the engine will let go then buying another engine..i mean seems like a waste of time and money..when in fact you could talk t the right folk and get it done properly from the start..sory if this sounds like a dig at you i really dont mean it to
