Now you're just plucking at straws.

Completely different scenario.

160mph on a public road is just nothing short of idiocy.

I'm not continuing this own with you as i prefer discussion with people who have some intellect. and a frontal lobe.

That's your opinion bud, but I'm quite secure in the knowledge that I am neither an idiot nor wreckless on the roads. How come germany has un-restricted autobahns which are actually some of the safest roads in Europe?

Please discuss, I'd be interested to hear your views..

Meh,

OK, so we shouldn't promote it - but I feel it's hypocritical that we can chastise someone for behaviour that many people on here indulge in themselves.

We all have fast cars here. I didn't buy mine to drive it slowly either. I also don't see the point of pretending I drive any differently than I do - I think I'm responsible enough to know when is the correct time to use speed.

It's all too PC for me. Pot calling the kettle black etc.

It's OK to imply that we drive above the speed limit, but not to state actual facts. I know you have a site to moderate, but I'm fed up with all the PC shite that's peddled these days. Tell it how it is. Just because you comment on a thread doesn't mean you condone it. But, we do have a police force to enforce the law, I think that is sufficient. If we all thought about the what if's and could be's, we'd do absolutely feck all.

Meh, meh and meh.

Edit - by peddling PC shite, I'm referring to the world in general not you or this website specifically.

So because we have fast cars we must speed on the road? no it's called a race track.

Why is okay to imply is, the way is seems you think it should be implied is so you can't get nicked for it by the boys in blue, rather than recognising it is behaviour we do not partake in.

It's the guys like you that think it is okay to do this kind of stuff so we dont get caught, that makes it so i can't be driving along enjoying my weekend without being pulled over and accused of being a street racer for having some nice modifications to my car.

The autobahn is unrestricted and everybody who drives on it knows that, and those who do not drive at the high speeds do not enter the fast lanes. they also go through stringent driver and license testing to get a license that will allow them to do that. the autobahns are also VERY well maintained.

Funnily enough, you arn't on the autobahn. you arn't even in that country. so it is not the same whatsoever, for the reasons stated above.

I was passenger in a car once... my mate decided to race somebody the guy racing us lost it, spun us both out and we spun and rolledand he went cartwheeling down the road. flew out of the car and smeared himself down the road. that was his lot.

I've also seen my best mate take off down a straight on a motorcycle and lose control and get chopped in half through the waist by a wire rope barrier.

You can have all the time and place in the world. when it goes wrong, you arn't in control anymore at high speed. Driving a 20 year old car on public roads at 160mph, yeah sounds really smart.

First paragraph has some screwy sentances there but it's 6am and i'm not firing on enough cylinders to care.

Riggers, mentioning them speeds on a motor way and then complaining it doesnt feel right, is a bit silly, I've had to edit your original post.

I've changed it so it doesnt mention the speeds you were doing which is what you should of done in the first place.

What i would suggest is driving slower so you don't kill someone. or take it to the track which is where your going to notice the improvements of lowered suspension.

Lowering your car is going to stiffen the springs up and on UK roads with all the bumps and what not, stability is going to be very speed dependant.

sorry mate i ment runway. im still not 100% what i can say and get the problem across the right way

sorry mate i ment runway. im still not 100% what i can say and get the problem across the right way

Shouldn't be a problem, you shouldn't do that speed on the road. By law and the fact they are not designed for it.

On a race track surface you won't have the problem. simple.

..or Riggers, just adapt your statements to say things like "I was driving on a private road at 160mph etc etc" We all know what you mean, as we're not stupid, but it avoids the above kind of interference.

Remember - speed kills period (not the inappropriate use of speed, which more liberally minded types would reason, nope, all speed is dangerous - infact, best leave the car on the drive and start walking everywhere)

ha ha i no its and its silly and i gess all of us spend all are money on 3.0 twin turbo cars 300 ta 600 bhp so we can get to 30 faster. each to there own but i dont have the cash to track my car every week iv took it ones and it cost me

two full tanks of fuel well £150

£900 for tyers

£125 for the track day

so il stick to the private roads

i wasn't chastising his behaviour, unless you call me saying he's "silly" as having a go, no one cares what you get up to or how you drive when your out and about, but i see no need to blatantly advertise the fact your speeding on a open forum.

germany's autobahns have an advisory speed limit of 81mph which most people obay, there might be no genaral speed limit but i assure you the German police still police it for speeding.

by the sounds of it you have never had anyone close to you die from a car crash.

I have. twice, back in 1999 2 of my friends died (brothers) in rushden on the wellingborough road while doing stupid speeds in their vauxhall calibre, it left the road on a straight section, hit a tree where it ended up heading skywards and pushed the engine into the cabin of the car, killing both of them.

then in 2002 one of my friends brothers died on the A45 from Northampton to wellingborough in his BMW, again due to excessive speed, he swerved to avoid a slower car he encountered around a bend, hit the barrier and rolled, his head hit the drivers side window so hard it smashed it, with his head then out of the window and the car rolling, the barrier chopped the top of his head off killing him instantly, me and his brother arrived on the scene 15 mins after it had happened, it took them 40 odd minutes to free the body from the car, having to comfort a mate whos just lost his brother while also morning the loss of a friend your self is hard as it is but having to watch my mates mum bury both her sons on the same day and leaving her childless was not the nicest of experiences and leaves you feeling not only empty but very helpless as well, what on earth do you say to someone whos just gone through losing her sons?

Mate this is a pretty mature site and I'm guessing comments like that won't wash! What I can say though is if you take your car somewhere to get the alignment done and they ask you for the settings just walk away!

I've always wanted a good enough reason to use this smiley...

It's really hard i think for somebody who hasn't lost somebody to really sink it into them, both of us could go without saying these things because he probably thinks we are tugging it. but the fact is if something did happen, we are going to sit here going, should we have said something?

I know we seem like captain sensibles to these young guys.

I'm only 24 i'm not exactly old, and i myself used to be incredibly wreckless.

Speeding everywhere, pulling wheelies between cars down the motorway all sorts.

Then i had to go comfort the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters. while thier boy is laying there in a pine box.

I still to this day cannot really figure out a way to get through to them, as i was told this stuff myself back then and i just fobbed it off. Oh they're just boring, oh they're just wimps etc etc i spent this money to go fast!...

Sadly i don't know what to say to get through... i really don't pretty much nothing then was going to change, but i guess when they lose somebody close, somebody they really care about, that it will sink in as it did with me.

Either that or they will get killed themselves and then maybe thier mates will slow down.

The reality of that situation is that the only person that scenario doesn't benefit is them.

Remember, short time thrill, long time dead.

Have you actually read earlier in the thread, where people replied to you regarding the firmer suspension on the roads you are using it on and the explination on why your problem has been caused? the question who asked has been answered long ago.

The day that it stops is going to be the day you total it, and i really do hope you arn't too badly hurt, i'm sure you're a decent lad.

Once you have a frontal lobe you will start to understand what we are getting at.

i take it you didnt read what i put?

How you drive is totally up to you, but no need to make people aware on the forum of the speeds your doing on a public road. its not my personal view, though agree with it, its the view of the club.

So by all means, drive it like you stole it, but there are ways of asking and getting the same answers with out divulging what you get up to on a public highway.

I get that it's up to him how he drives, but do we really want people with this kind of attitude in the club?

Your call, just throwing my input.

If you're in a club for a car that's been classed as a super car, a super-sports car, etc. you're going to get people who drive fast, and it isn't just the young'uns either. I drove like a ****ing prick in cars when I was younger, cars that weren't capable of stopping as fast or holding the road as well too, but as I've watched motor racing accidents, seen accidents on TV, had children etc. I've come to the realisation that half the time, more than half the time, driving like a **** just isn't worth the consequences. My dad lost his dad when he was 5 through cancer and it affected him in a big way, not because of the cancer, because he lost his dad, my son is 6..... nuf said.

Agreed, i love to drive fast heck i'm still a speed freak, but on the streets nope, i simply could not live with myself if i killed somebody innocent just trying to get home because i wanted to have some fun.

we are not going to ban someone based on the view that he likes to drive it like he stole it, thats totally up to him. the club just doesnt want people flouting the law on the forums, which i totally understand and agree with.

seems that its just too hard for some people to understand that you can get the same answer to your questions with no mention of what speed was being used.

Ive agreed with everything you have said till now.

Its the moderators job to police the site and we dont need to try and stir up a lynch mob for his public hanging.

Just my opinion though...

As with you it was just my opinion.

yes i have but iv had all bushes changed

its been on an 4 wheel alinement machine wich is set to what nissan call stock

thant why i wonderd if a swb was diffrent. because its not right wich is why iv asked you lot cus i thought someone on this websit might no.

and my car isnt stiff its set soft for comfort. you havent got what i mean. its as if someone haz just shot my back tyere out. like a blow out. and it fish tails and we cant find enything rong with the car at all

HICAS bushes

If you still have HICAS installed and you lower the car it could be messing up your toe, may seem fine on an alignment machine. but causing problems when the hicas kicks in

What you explain is also quite commenly caused by lack of downforce, you havn't removed the big wing that is on it in your avatar pic by chance?

Anything else been changed on the car since the last time you took it to these speeds?

Oh yes very much so wasn't my intention to start a lynch mob and mods can do as they please.:sweatdrop:

lol...

You think you are pretty much invincible until you are either involved in a crash or someone you care for is..

or you get older and kids come along..

HICAS bushes

^^^ Another very likely possibility...

I assume you mean where the tie rods ends join the hubs.

Let's not forget that a big wing could cause this problem as much as cure it. A big wing with the wrong geometrics might cause uplift instead of downforce.
