After removing the hicas and fitting my eliminator bar, i was checking the rear arm bushes and there knacked.

Can these be rmoved and replaced with the arm in situ, or are the bushes a pressed fit? Can new ones be fitted without taking the rear arms off?.

This is why I bought the DW kit Dave, because I had a HICAS eliminator bar and my bushes were shot. The cost of new bushes (From memory) is easily nearly as much as the DW kit. There is a guide on here to getting them out, you will need some tools and a blow lamp, but they do come out in without taking the hubs off, you do need to release the arms from the hubs though of course.

Cheers mate, once there out tho, can the new ones be fitted in situ, or does it need a press??.

I can get two new bushes for £80. or is that abit high on price??.

I reckon the new OEM ones are gunna need a press, but don't quote me. The DW kit comes with poly bushes, so they went in nice and easy.

£80 for the two is pretty good I'm sure it was £56 for one when I replaced one of mine years ago.

They are tight to come out but can be done in situ. You will need something to use as a press, I used a large C clamp and sockets along with a couple of hammers to shock the arm.

I'm some people even cut the top lip of the bush so that it can be pushed out the opposite way. There was a write up kicking about a while back

Once you get the balljoints out (nightmare of a job!) you can use a big socket and a hammer to knock the new ones in. Use plenty of grease and make sure you're hammering them in straight.

Can someone put a link on here please to a how to guide if there is one.

apart from undoing the hub nut, removing the hub is pretty easy really, disc off, drum brake bits out (take pictures), then just undo everything attatched to the hub, I'd say a lot easier than removing the ball joint in situ, then you take it to your local garage who I'm sure would press out then in your new one for a couple of beer tokens, but as I said, that hub nut can be seriously tight, have a go at one in situ first, see how you get on, it's a royal pain in the arse tho, no room to swing a big hammer about, and I have never felt very confident whacking ten kinds of shit out of a cast hub...
