Well, you'll know that I totally pulled apart my targa tops and put them back together again. I thought the only difference between the JDM and the UK was the brown vs blue tint (yep even in the roof lol), but it isnt.

 

I just cleaned up the sun shades that I was going to keep, but they just cant fit. Theres a seemingly pointless but robust looking attachment on the roof panels that will not allow the shades to go in.

 

Has anyone an idea what on earth these are for and moreso, if there are smaller shades in existence to fit around these. I dont really want to take them off.

 

UK spec has them, Jap spec doesnt, you can take them off and fit japspec shades. or leave them on to fit UK shades, UK are smaller due to that, its just a bit of foam, ive removed mine to fit japspec shades that i had.

the retaining clips are in the same place though. its bonded on with a black silicone

Talking about padding - shiiish these tops are a tight fit now theyve been redone.

I put the jap ones on the grey one while i refurbed these and Alex really complained about wind noise - thats deffo a thing of the past!

 

They have to be 'encouraged' to fasten shut, but thats either the new felting I put on the edges or purely this rubber overlap. Here is the driverside front edge:

Ive got a spare set of uk spec targa blinds you are more than welcome to have.....mines a jdm but had uk blinds which ive now replaced.are you going to zedworld on saturday?, as I can take them with me :)
