At the risk of being engulfed in flames, I'm with Clarkson on this one.

 

I work bloody hard at what I do and have to have a lot more skill and stay on top of my game a LOT more than most (I said most and not all) of the people who were on strike yesterday, yet I don't have a pension provided to me by the tax payer, in fact when I retire, the state pension will have disintegrated completely and the civil servants will no doubt still get theirs!

 

School teachers get a rough ride I admit, what with their power over the children all but completely removed these days, but they also get more holidays than just about any other profession, bar a university lecturer and they get paid quite hansomly too for what they actually contribute. I'm afraid 'good' teachers these days are a rarity, not common place at all. I have two kids, at each end of the academic ladder (One 6 years old, one 16) and I can safely say that across the entire system, MOST teachers are dimwitted idiots, who just jumped at Labours offer of a minimum £18K and 10 weeks holiday per year, a few years ago. I must of course add the disclaimer here, that I'm not referring to ALL teachers and anyone who is a teacher on here, is in no way being singled out, because I didn't even know you were a teacher.

 

I heard some whining woman on the radio this morning in the car, complaining that they've had a pay freeze for the last couple of years, well sorry, but work harder, do your job better, or find one where you will get paid progressively more based on performance, rather than getting into the civil service because you know they traditionally bump your pay every year and pay you a minted pension at the end of it! For crying out loud, what happened to the days when the civil service got paid feck all, but had a job for life, a pension at the end of it and they were all grateful for that!?

internet post from a friend elsewhere.........Today I grateful that I have job which pays me well every month, pays me to have 33 days holiday a year, pays me when I'm I'll to stay at home and lay on my sofa, has let me work from home when my child has been I'll and has paid for me to do a degree and a masters degree... Oh and by the way I'm a public sector worker!

Absolutely spot on...... Perhaps if they all stayed on strike we'd get the savings in the (un)Civil Services that are needed and then those that are left would have to work for real and no one would notice the difference !

I work feckin' hard for my pittance thanks to this current economic black hole we're in - I am out of the house at 5:20am every day and work long hour in all weathers on building sites. I am widely regarded by my contracts as one of the best in my field, yet my income has gone DOWN considerably over the last 3 years due to the recession(s) forcing me to lower prices to remain in work.

 

As it stands I am 35 years old and have no pensions. I don't get sick pay, or holiday pay, or a subsidised pension or any other job related benefits whatsoever - and I'm spending between £250-£300 a week on diesel thanks to rising fuel duty.

 

So when I hear people whinging about their 'minor' financial woes I say F@#K YOU!! Appreciate what you've got and stop being a spoilt little sh1t or quit and let someone else have your job - there's plenty of unemployed who would give their right nut to have your income.

1. Close borders

2. Eject all illegal imigrants.

3. Stop paying benifits to lazy useless w%nkers and make them work as refuse collectors and other civil service duties to cover the cost of there benefit (TRUST ME they will soon get off there asses and find a job in the private sector.

4. No free heathcare for migrants that have not contributed to national insurance for at least 3 years.

5.You wanna come into the country fine BRING YOUR OWN MONEY, proof of 10k in the bank before letting anyone in.

6. Automatic 1 year Jail sentences for uninsured drivers.

7. Eject our overcrowded convicts living the high lives with playstations and xboxes and 3 meals a day from the tax payer paid hotels and put them on the front lines, bring our heroes home to be with the families.

8. Withdraw from the EU and stop paying 30 million a day or what ever the stupid price is and get our power back from Brussels.

9. Stop pussy footing around with no smoking and white packets and under the shelf rules and just BAN FAGS.....

I think exactly the same, although I'd say let people smoke if they bloody well wanna, why waste the money trying to enforce the ban? All you'll end up with is the same as ecstacy and weed, people will get it on the black market and it won't be even remotely regulated, it'll have worse poisons in it than it already does and it'd put millions of people out of work, including a LOT of people in third world countries who make their pittance by picking tobacco. Everything else you said I agree with, but the smoking thing is your preference and won't help the country one bit :D

tbh i agree with him for the most part i think its outragous that the work shy can earn 30k from popping out sprogs and that tube drivers earn a frankly stupid and unwarrented 38k for doing a job a trained monkey could do!!! BUT my mrs is a nurse she works 12 hour shifts litteraly saving lives (shes a cardiac nurse) and the shit she has to put up with makes me sick she recently got kicked in the face by a dementia patient that they couldnt restrain or siddate because of human rights laws, they had to lock themselves in an office because a group of gypsys had come into the ward and wouldnt leave!!!

 

and for putting up with all that and more besides she earns £24500, well below the uk average the only thing that makes her job worthwhile is her good pension at the end of it, im not saying keep ALL the pensions but leave the nurses alone for christ sake because with out them who would we turn to when we really need help

 

I guess all im saying is dont tar everyone with the same brush, and dont take the NHS for granted

That's exactly the problem though, those who do **** all, you know the ones that push paper and screw up the communication between departments, or sit there and confirm everything you wrote on the form is correctly spelled and makes you lie on your CV to get a job etc. etc. etc. are pushing for more money, when they plainly don't deserve it.

 

Our priorities with civil servants are all wrong, but then in many cases, so are the attitudes of some of the civil servants these days. The police for example, SHOULD be treated with respect, but if they insist on telling you everything is a civil matter and won't help you when you truly need it, whilst sitting in a bush with a radar gun to take more money off you for being 1mph above their set limit, they're not earning it really are they?

 

Nurses are awesome, apart from the ones who really don't give a shit, are rude to you as a patient and threaten to throw you out on the street, or have you arrested, because you're upset about something they've ****ed up royally. I can't threaten to have my boss arrested or denied vital care because he yells at me when I **** something up!!!

1. Close borders how do you propose to do this? stop granting entry while the goverment processes an application coz 90% of those declined stay illegally anyway. Make them apply before allowing them in the country just as nz does.
