fear ye not,

New sills are available from MJP in our traders section.

You'll not regret sacking the golf off - welcome to the premier league mate!

Edit: and you'll easily be able to get hold of another rad for peanuts.. check the for sale threads - Hollowpoint might have one for sale or stick a wanted post in the wanted section. Lots of people upgrade this part, so probably a few stuck in people's garages somewhere

Hi and welcome to the club, seems like you have some work to do, but nothing impossible.

Sills are available from MJP our trader here on the forum.

Get some pics up when you can so we can see what she is like.

Cheers

Graham

ill pop out now and take some pics wont be note special as its on my drive

Welcome :)

We have 2 rads for sale (Hollowpoint and I), one from an auto, one from a manual, both in good nik. Also, we had to replace both sills on our Grey zed which is the zed we are keeping. Since Alex dealt with purchasing/getting the welding and painting done he'll tell you what he knows.

When we got our Grey zed we weren't told about rusty sills, were told a lot of crap about a new engine, uprated turbos etc that turned out total rubbish. When he went to pick it up, the front tyres were shot, the pop off steering wheel gone, front brakes downgraded and had to wait a few hours for the front brakes fixing. It was £1300 off ebay.

Doesn't sound like you had a fun first day with it but hopefully there wont be too many more surprises in store.

All fixable so far and better than a Golf any day I say!:D

sound a bit like the bloke who i bought it off probably makes a living selling sheds

how mutch would you want for a manual rad

Phone the bodyshop on the window sticker and tell that you've just purchased it...if he wants his sticker to stay on then he can tidy up that spoiler/rear panel for free! Otherwise get the stanley out and remove his sticker

It doesn't look bad mate, hope the rust isn't too bad. I quite like those wheels.

I could make a good copy of that key and come round to see if it works in your ignition and doors

yes my address is :tt2:

Quite a nice looking TT Manual there. You can have the rad for £35 delivered if you like? Just reply in this thread with your email address, or if you want to sign up to the club fully so you can pm, then you can pm me your address and stuff ;)

You should come to the Zedworld Christmas bash next Saturday with the Z, then we can all have a look in the flesh and see if we can help you with anything, there's a thread somewhere on here with the details.

Welcome to the forum, you won't regret buying a ZX :D

removing e mail

ok we have your email.

Can a mod remove the email from the above post please :)

Email sent bud, just had a thought too, if you want some chrome rad brackets to go with that standard rad, just put another £15 in the money transfer ;)

was told the key was special lol

It is lol. I had one for the yellow zed, and two spare regular keys. We couldnt use the regular key blanks for a spare for the grey zed as turned out to be different , so now, I'm going to the extent of swapping out the ignition and door locks to be able to keep that 'special' key and the 2 spares.:hammer:

aparently 7 years ago this was show car just shows what can happen to a car with a few bad owners

yeah it doesn't take long with some neglect for a cars quality to decline.

Worse case scenario m8 break it and put the aftermarket bits on a better car, U will make more in parts specially selling a manual conversion, which is sad to say to be honest but more people are breaking them so they are getting rarer.

Cheers John

Yeah I'd advise against that until the new year, we just broke one and are struggling a little more than expected to get rid of stuff. There's already one manual conversion on this site (Bantambunny) which was floating around before we broke ours, so now there's at least 2, possibly more at the moment. If we could have waited til the new year to break it, we would have, but we need to move in January and that'd be a complete nightmare.
