Exhaust heat shields, fiddly bits.

It just struck me - on the centre section of the Nissan OEM exhaust I just took off, there were lots of shields and stuff.

Do they need taking off and adding to the Mongoose or are the two exhausts different and complete in themselves?

    I think they have two functions, firstly to quieten down the reasonance of the thin mild steel system and secondly as a heat shield. I don't think they would fit to the Mongoose system anyway, so its probably irrelevent.
