Yes it will fit. Stands are a universal fit to the bellhousing bolt holes on the rear of the engine, i have got the same stand and worked a treat.

New they are only £45 so dont go bidding too high on that one lol.

Cheers Groover.:thumbup1:

I feel a lot better about getting one now, knowing someone as yourself have used this type and gives it the thumbs up!:cool3:

See what you mean about price, I think I might be tempted to buy new.

No worries mate, the engine weighs about 250kg's so the stand is more than enough to handle the wieght. When you rotate the engine on the stand, hold onto the manifold or block so the momentum doesnt swing it away from where you want it to be.

The keyring type hoop on the locking pin tends to bend after a while, so i use a big bolt to stop it turning.

Thanks again for the info Groover, much appreciated.:thumbup1:

I am currently contemplating a complete strip down and rebuild (body and engine) so I am looking for as much help and advice as I can get.

I think I will savour next summer first though, it will give me a chance to think through everything that will be involved.

Hoping to run around 500bhp finances permitting

You will enjoy it im sure. I was lucky enough to buy a spare engine to work on through the year and changed it when it was ready. Having it on a stand made a world of difference for ease of access.

I think you are right Groove, In fact I'm sure you are.:cool3:

At the moment it is a mixture of excitement and trepidation.:scared:

I can only hope that everyone here will not get too pi^^ed off with my barrage of questions.

Without the anticipated help and support of this forum, I do not think I would be able to attempt it.

I'm thinking about doing the same tbh. Now we've decided to scrap the yellow one and do up the grey one, it'll be in the garage for a good few months while Rose finishes the boot build and lighting up the interior etc. etc. etc. I'm really tempted to yank the motor and give it a full strip down and rebuild. Depending on how the finances turn out after Christmas depends on whether it goes big power or just a basic rebuild and up to 350 - 400 bhp.

Its actually not too bad lol, there are plenty of write ups, how to's and help at hand so dont be afraid. Its very rewarding at the end and you get to learn alot more about the zed, so well worth it.

I found buying parts etc throughout the year took the sting out of it a bit and once youve cleaned everything up, its so nice working on a clean engine.

All i have to do now is give it a polish and clean once a week and it still looks like new.

Hope you do decide to go for it Hollowpoint.

I can not say exactly when I will make a start,(after next summer is the aim) but hopefully I will be able to learn a lot from a more experienced Z owner such as yourself along the way as your rebuild progresses.

Thanks Groover, I envy the position you are now in with your Z, I can not imagine the degree of work that must have gone into it. (Guess I will soon find out)

To be at a stage where all I have to do is wash and wax her is but a dream at the moment.

Hope you do decide to go for it Hollowpoint.

Keep at it mate you'll get there. After two years of rebuilding 90% of my baby I'm now just waiting for the paint shop to drop her off.

I was only talking about the engine lol, the body still needs spraying, been in primer for the last 2 JAE's :hammer: But as far as the engine goes, i shouldnt need to worry for a few years (hopefully)
