Finally got one after a year of waiting for insurance :P photos!!

got this delivered today for a nice price. its a targa top model n/a auto, Apart from needing a wash and polish it needs the altenator replaced or reconned whatever is cheapest as the bushes inside it are either stuck/sticking, and the prop bearings need replaced as its knocking in the middle (under handbrake console if that helps you picture where) and thats basically it.

If its just the centre bearing you need, then you only need the front section of the prop, which will also be cheaper on postage, will speak to you tommorrow.

I have an N/A and have rebuilt and changed the engine and converted to manual, so if there is anything you need to know, write yourself a list lol.

Cheers

Hey Baz just off to my sisters now to see if she`s in i`ll send you that £35 for the altenator and an email with my name and address :)

  • Author

bah her bank is miles away, trying to find a mate who has paypal to pay Baz and Groover

Common cause of alternator problems is a leaky power steering pump as it is right above the alternator, make up a little shield to go between the two to save future headaches, and check your p/s pump out as well.

I`ll get straight on it thanks for the advice, Also going to see my other sister this dinner time about her paypal account so Baz n Grooper should have some money heading their way today or tomorrow.

Grooper and Baz to let you know i`m sending your payments tomorrow afternoon :) finally found someone with a bloody paypal account lol

Thats great thanks Peter, your alternator is all boxed up ready to go :)

dont forget to get them to send the payment as a gift through paypal (its under the personal tab), then the robbing gits at paypal wont take their cut :)

Well just been offered £600 for my wheels :P not bad considering i was thinking about some 18`s after new year lol

Bite their hand off at that!! They aint worth £600 lol.

  • Author

I have no idea why they want them ssr longchamps are apprently hard to get :S If i had another set to throw on the car i would take it, or if they had something decent to offer, I really want a set of 18`s from a 350

If I was you mate I'd definately sell them at that. Theres plenty of other wheels around, in fact sexycrayola has some 18" Work wheels for £300 in the for sale section, they are really nice, have a look!

I have a "what came first the chicken or the egg" problem, I havent got anything to stand the car on while i buy new wheels and havent got the cash to buy new wheels until i sell these lol, cant find the works wheels in the items for sale section? seen a set of 19`s, a set of 18`s that need a refurb and 2 sets of standards

lol its never straight forward is it, They`re nice but i`m not a fan of stretched tyres, past 10 months on the dub scene i've seen to many accidents from wheels with anything from a major stretch or even something slight and dont want to risk my car

you need some full fat tyres like I've got on my Work's, those ones aren't exactly major stretch though, very cheap for what they are!

Oh yeah they are gorgeous wheels but any mention of the word stretched and i`m a chicken :P i want wide tyres on wide wheels, theres nothing really "wrong" with mine apart from the fact they're 17s but a refurb will do for now, polish lips and rattle the centres jobs a good`in! now all i gotta do is find someone local who can fit my parts for me, Had one guy said he can do it all within the hour :P if its done within the hour on my drive then it isnt done right next!

i had a set of 18's from a 350z on mine, popular opinion was no spacers needed on front but i had to run a 3mm slip on spacer to clear the calipers on the front, and the tyre profile they had rubbed on the front upright as well so you need some low profiles.

Yeap seen many failures myself.... form over function seems to = crash.

I dont really see a purpose in buying nice wide wheels then putting piddly tyres on them just to make your car look nice, i know a few guys running 18x10's with 245's on the rear.... i've gone for 285's on my 18x10's, minimum i would ever go would be a 265.

Right Baz and Groover payment will be paid tomorrow because!, I transfered the £47 to my mate to send between you guys and paypal even as agift are charging £2:30 to send both payments and obviously i didnt know about that so didnt send extra and he doesnt have anymore in until he gets paid tomorrow and i`m not walking 2 miles back to the bank just to put those pennys in so you will both definitly be paid tomorrow! thanks for waiting lol

lol ok no problem, I've never had to pay a fee when sending money as a gift? hmmm strange but I know some people that have.

  • Author

It takes 3-5 working days to transfer money from a bank account to paypal, so he would have to send it to your paypal via his bank and thats why he was going to get charged, so just going to pay the charges tomorrow and send the payments then i can start looking for someone to fit the parts and hopefilly within the next 7days the car will be mot`d!!!!! woooo!

Alright Baz and Groover your payments have been sent via my mate Martin Adamson :D

Thanks mate received that, please can you send your name & address to my email so I can get it sent :thumbup1:

I get charged nearly every time, because I don't keep any money in paypal and it charges me to take money off my debit card for immediate payment. THIS is why I hate paypal! :gunsmilie:
