IT only bloody managed to find a cheaper quote than my current insurance provider. I'm speechless. Internet now has 3 uses: cars, porn AND insurance. Amazing.

As a matter of interest the quote was from Admiral, with every nut and bolt declared :innocent: 726 quid - which for where I live, is probably about right - as being a car thief is now a recognised occupation in my area.

Sky decided to increase my premium by 160 (to 900) quid after I declared my engine rebuild, even though the performance was pretty much unchanged. They wouldn't even agree that the value of the car had increased. :gun_bandana:

How I miss the years when my car insurance actually decreased :crying:

I don't think I have seen insurance, decreased and car used in the same sentence before in the history of everness

NEVER..NEVER renew ANY insurance policy without firstly running it through the comparison sites.

You will ALWAYS get it cheaper.

I just recently sent a cheque back by reply to renew my Z insurance, no question!

£144 Quid cant argue with that. Not even worth spending time researching other companies.

Check out the limited millage classic car policies that they do and see if it suits your circumstances. Does have limitations but sooo much cheaper. I think it needs to be over 20 years old.

I am 35, car garaged over night, limited miles (cant remember how many), no points or convictions.

Performance direct is who I am with, but I have had the same from other companies for my performance minis (one 1.8 vtec type r engine). They also have an agreed value so even if the book price is a few hundred quid for your pride and joy you will get what it is really worth if its nicked as they agreed it.

Keep it between us....Loose lips sink ships

^^^^Same roughly, £196, 6000 limited miles, fully comp. Post office. Funny thing is, when I had an old escort bangar to run around in,1.3, it cost £430 same insurance with the post office.

I know what you're saying Pete, you'd be a fool not to shop around first, I agree.

Normally it involves phoning round though, as comparison sites have only ever quoted silliness for a modified Jap import parked in down-town Bagdad. For reference, the next lowest quote was 8000 odd - which is what I would expect from these sites, really.

With a bit more work, I might even get the insurance under 700 quid which is what I was paying when I first got the car. Hopefully

NB - have been told I cannot get classic insurance on my car - declined on the basis that it is '95 reg and therefor a 'future classic' - in which case the car needs to be garaged. Mileage isn't a problem though - I don't get much chance to drive it these days :manicallydepressedsmiley:

ssshh dont tell everybody!

£240 on classic, 25 years old, 3000 miles, 4 years driving experience and garaged overnight. Some classic policies will do a car that is 15 years old too :p

Footman James will offer classic policies on all 300ZX's regardless of age. You can get limited or unlimited mileage, agreed value and includes UK and European Breakdown Cover. Mine cost £220 before staff discount. We won't cover anything that's heavily modified, you need to have access to another car and minimum age of 25. Phone us rather than getting an online quote for the best deal 0121 561 6250

That's buggered it then

Footman James did an excellent deal on my Sierra though - I've still got 3 yrs no claims on that policy, they said they would honour it if I ever got insurance again with them  wasn't transferable as it was acrued on a classic policy. I'd recommend them, definitely.

i got quoted 8k from footman james, i cant get a quote lower that 2-4k that why im not drivin write now, 21, 4 yrs driving, garaged over nite. no accidents or points.
