Have bought 4 bathroom speakers and would love to have them up and running,

Question is how do I go about it?

I have a surround stereo nearby but i use it for the bedroom in surround sound with 2 main and 2 surround, I have the option to add another set of speakers to the stereo by pressing speakers b, this means that speakers A is the bedroom surround and B can be another pair of speakers anywhere

Problem is I really would like 4 in the bathroom is this possible to set up, or am I being silly and should just stick to a pair in the bathroom?

with your hifi in bedroom ... find out what Ohms the speakers it takes .. and the ones you have got for the bathroom

Most hifis are 6>8ohms

but speakers are normaly 8ohms

if you wire two speakers in parrelel ( right side )this will give you 4ohms per 2 speakers (same for left)

you will be over driving your hifi a little but long as you dont have it on Full all the time

it should be fine

You must spend more time in the bathroom than my missus :tt2:

Maybe you have irratable bowels or extreme constipation? Either way, I wish you well with your problem. I used to have a bog-roll holder that was also a radio as a student. Apart from, obviously, looking like a class item (which never failed to impress the ladies - "Wow, whats that?" "Yeah, check it out, it's me bog roll radio, innit!" hmmm, maybe i'm fantasising now..), it also kept you occupied for hours - and the bathroom.

In my house now, I have installed 'acoustic walls' which port music into every room of the house, using the cavity space as huge reflex speaker. Technically, if I were to play the right frequency, I could demolish my house in seconds - but as I don't often communicate with whales, I have not yet stumbled across that frequency. Fortunately.

Lol well I do enjoy a bit of dance music in the shower but we won't go there lol,

Just looked at the speakers there 4 ohms each so there is no chance of having 4 working together

If my calculations are correct 2 speakers per channel in parallel would give 2 ohms not good for the amp, need to go back to the drawing board, can I add a resistor in the circuit?

How big is your bathroom? 2 speakers positioned correctly will surely be enough? Wish I had speakers in my bathroom btw, I make do with an iPod dock lol.

I don't think you can wire them in series but i have seen a speaker switch on eBay that would work, I just thought 4 would look better than 2 that's the only reason

you can wire any speakers in series ..

( Right )Speaker A - go's to Speaker B +

Speaker A + to Amp

Speaker B - to Amp

and the same for Left Side

i assume you are running wires in the ceiling ?

all joins can be made there and just Pair of wires ran from the Amp

the only thing that would be diffrent is the wattage of speakers will be twice as much

but shouldnt be a problem for your amp

no need to buy any speaker switchs as your amp does that
