it's certainly an interesting build, i've been reading the various threads since you started,

 

its way beyond my patience to build somnething like that, so much respect from me

 

undecided if i like it yet , love the idea of it still being practcal, so very interested to see the finished article, will probably like it more once its the finished colour/trim and all merged in

Well, got to see it in a 'state' before it looks pretty I guess ... beleive me, it's getting me down some days seeing it like this. Lesson learned from before though, is to not miss out progress shots!

 

On safety though... I could easily build 'stays' into the boot roof to secure them. They are much tighter fitted than the following vid now but it happens to show you what it's like on the inside.

Resounding concerns...

 

A. :excl:Decapitation by targas

B. :excl:Glass being damaged

 

A. They are very secure, pure physics of the angle they sit in would not allow them to come forward into the car. The curvature of the boot and roof also wont allow this, it is a relative impossibility. However, since the concern is resounding, a simple fibreglass modification to the boot lid to 'stop' the targas on the outer edge should satisfy this.

 

B. An early consideration I had, although after further research, this is also highly unlikely. The free flowing space around the targas allow plenty of space for the resonating sound waves to escape. True, the vibration may take its toll on the seals of the targas, but who doesnt have leaky targas anyway.

 

Lets rewind a bit into reality, or rather bring it down a few decibels.

Its only 2x10" subs and 2x6x9's!! I'm not in it for the sound off of the century.

 

Concerns about bursting glass is rather bizzare, since I dont see this on the Beast or Artztogo threads, or the hundreds of other cars with FAR more decibels in their cars than I will ever have.:blush:

 

I don't drive around that often with the targas off anyway.I also don't intend on having the system at permanent full whack. It's built for sound quality not so much quantity. By the time all the sound deadening and padding is in place, there will not be too much to be heard from outside the car when it's all shut up.

 

If a was heading for a 1/4 mile race or a spin around silverstone, it just plain won't be in the car.

 

All in all, :online2long: yes, I've researched the hell out of it. After all, safety first.

 

I did attempt to answer these queries in the other thread including links and videos regarding the issues. Instead, the war just continued. 7 pages and nearly 900 views for petty arguments that I had hardly anything to do with. I just wanted to share my hobby and ideas to improve are good, just dissing it, ignoring my response, and not allowing tides to gladden is bad. There are some people who do have a genuine passion for the Z and those also genuinely interested in modifying though. For those, I will persevere with the updates. Ive seen far too many chased off the boards because their mods have been likened to eg a toddlers green potty followed by continuous barrages of insults.

 

I thoroughly expect plenty to absolutely hate it when it's done, and some may love it. ... all I can say to that is welcome to modifieds lol

I won't hate it - it might not be how I'd have my Zed, but the fact that you'll have done all those mods and got it looking how *you* want means I'll be thoroughly impressed with it!

No, most mods would have taken it off site, as was offered, if there was actually anything to take off site, but then most mods who were told a member wasn't interested in their opinion (How this all started) would have simply walked away because they were then too personally involved, you on the other hand, made it your mission to provoke responses and get involved in just about everything thread Rose had started. Like I said 'to be expected of you'. You lived up to the expectations of "The best recruiter" as you are known elsewhere and I could easily bring up 20+ people who've left this site, purely BECAUSE of you, whether you banned them, or they were banned because of interactions with you just like this, or whether they left of their own accord because they couldn't stand you anymore.
