why is every one in this world ready to rip you off ? Had a speeding court case in july in which a garage had my car and went through a speed trap ,case shouldnt have even gone to court even as i had prove that i was working 2 hrs away the cps still decieded to take me to court i employed a solicitor from bristol they held £750 on account i one case and was awarded full cost cps have taken 4 mths to pay and all they would sposidly pay is £500 so im having to take a sortfall off £250 ,goverment agencys are arses i bet if i payed the revenue a shortfall they would have something to say about it RANT OVER for now!!.

Garage went bust this happened 1 year ago only found out when i changed my liecence 8 mths after moving it came back with 6 points and £ 500 cost had to get court to reopen case in the mean while garage had shut has taken ages to sort out only to be kicked on way out cps said solicitor can reaply for them to look at costings i asked for % success rate a no coment was said theres a suprize im pussing solicitor just sent off complain email so who knows ..

well, way I see it is the law is there to punish the innocent.

You know how it is, if you get broken into you get sued for the thief hurting themselves, and if your garage speed in your car, you're still the one to pay.

 

I too would be raising this with the garage who bust or not, have to keep records of who was driving your car, who is the 'criminal', whether at work or not. Typically no help from the police is not a surprise to hear.

I think it is more the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) than the police, and they are a law unto themselves!!

 

I hope your solicitor has some luck in claiming your £250.00 back, they should be paying you money for your time taken to sort the whole mess out.

 

Have to agree with the garage person/persons being responsible though, they were after all breaking the law in your vehicle, so think there may be something you can do if they provide you with the details of the person driving. Records do have to be kept, therefore there is no reason that they can refuse, but that's only if you can find the owners of said garage.

 

The laws of this land are pathetic, and need a serious revamp, people being done for protecting their property and/or families, dogs being put to sleep for biting criminals and then the owner of the dog being sued because the dog bit them on or in the dog owners property, the law is an ass.

My red tt yep allan ,the cps have said that some of the work the solicitor has done could have been done by a jr so i have said thats not my fault so i have put an official complaint with solicitor and omboardsman so will let you know ....

umm what happened to innocent till proven guilty then? i dont know the whole story but im pretty sure the police cant put points and fines on people licence without somebody either admiting the crime or the police proving who was driving the car. Did you ever go to court before the points and fine where put on your licence?

Was it at your normal zed garage??
