Where to start?

I havent driven the zed for a while, put about half a litre of oil in as it looked a little low. drove above 10 miles and fine, on the way back it started to misfire. it got to around 4000 revs and would go no further but drove home okay under that rev range. went back out straight away and the power completely went.

I know it shouldnt be the case, but if I have over filled the oil, anyway at all it could misfire? Thats probably just coincidence. Anyway drained some oil out just in case and restarted, no problem, no misfire.

Lad over the road pulled up and we chatting about his GT4, the car was running, it started to misfire again, enough so it cut out.

Ill check the plugs today and see what condition they are in, if not the oil why would it only start to misfire when it gets warm?

Cheers

Kev

Be gentle unplugging the injectors tho, unless you have a new loom, they could be quite brittle, and take care not to lose the metal clips (easier said than done) :)

Hi Guys,

where will I find the PTU? everything else seems fine, apart from the plugs smell of petrol, burnt the petrol away before I tried starting again. Wont start now, actually sounds like its flooding.

Its a 94 plate so that would be a series 2?

Unless it's been moved the PTU is on the drivers side cam cover under the throttle pipe. Not sure which version you'll have but S1 is a big alloy finned box and the s2 is smaller and different shape.
