The old v6 does sound abit like my brothers moped but i prefer the v6 though

Just sound to me like the V8 was'nt being pushed anything like the V6 originals were. Lots of part throttle and short changing, barely getting it into high revs or putting it under load. Not a fair comparison.

Although with modern exhaust noise ruleing its not surprising if its on the tamer side, I'm sure an aftermarket free flowing exhaust can sort that out though.

being pushed a bit more (near end) ? but microphone sound a bit distorted on this one

Its not really a fair comparison. No v6 sounds as good as a v8.The v8 is a road car so has road exhausts, put a works system on it like the 70,s models had in the video and the poll result would be way different im sure :punk:

Original Stratos for me please!!

while were at it can someone buy me one of these please to go with it:

A road going 037,thats rarer than rocking horse shit !! what a car .Any delta integrales on the same site you found that .Not in the same league but checked how many left for 131 fiats ,especially the miafiora 2.0 twin cam.I couldnt find any.I loved them back in the day.

LOL! yea - I used to work for Lancia back then - remember driving my first Intergarale!! What a machine!!

That twin cam lump was the nuts!!

They made the Thema 8.32 with a V8 Ferarri lump - then brough out the 16v 2.0 twin cam lump which was quicker LOL!!

I found a thema V8 on pistonheads. The car was a rotter but what a motor.I remember seeing one years ago in the 80.s.Rare old motor. With a cracking engine.A real street sleeper.I also have a soft spot for the strada 105tc and 130 Abarth.Typical Italian motors.Full of passion and flare but just would not stand the test of time.Either way you have to love them.Lambos, ferrari,s are all the same. This is why Merc and Porsche have done so well.Power with reliability. But imho just dont always have the soul of an Italian car.No more 037 pics my pants cant take it !!

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone else apart from my dad mention that engine as he always rambles on about how he got one out the scrappie and put it in a Dutton!

Although I think he's more gutted after finding this for sale on eBay -http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-G-Alfa-Romeo-Giulia-SPRINT-BERTONE-GTA-EVOCAZIONE-/180715355771?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a13797e7b

He said he had the model up from that one and ended up with the bodyshell splitting above the back wheels from just sheer abuse, I think he may regret that with the prices now lol

A V6 sounds better than a 4 pot. A V8 sounds better than a V6. A V10 sounds better than a V8 and a V12 sounds better than a V10. A V16 wins. Fact.

Sorry, couldn't figure out how to embed it - but you really have to listen to this.

You left one out Leo

I stand corrected - that sounds awesome Gary!

In answer to your original post though - I think the Stratos suits a V6 more than a V8. Imagine if your missus sounded like Barry White, it just wouldn't be right! Same with the Stratos - V8 doesn't suit it.

:lol::lol::lol:

You know - that just about sums it up!!!!

As for more cylinders = better sound, its just not always the case.

The V12 Mercedes are silky smooth but sound a bit pants TBH - the AMG C63 V8 engine on the other hand sounds like the most angry Merc engine ever!!

A lot of what sounds "nice or sporty" is a lot down to noise tuning by the manufacturer - the same V12 engine which sounds pants is fitted to the Pagani Zonda - AMG V12, fek me does that sound nice!!

The Stratos V6 does sound spot on IMHO

I gonna say I prefer the v8 :)

Only thing that sounds better than a big v8 is a v12 merlin engine......pure engine porn! :)
