got my hands on some Normal Turbos

i know i can get them recon .. but all so thinking about hybrids

 

has any one done this and what type of power could i get from them ?

or does any one know that parts to use ...

 

Midland turbos any good ?

can of worms there mate.Jesus i remember some threads back in the day regarding this subject,who was good or not.For the cost these days a set of hybrids with new cartridges can be bought for reasonable money from some stateside suppliers like Z1.

just checked there web it would cost me alot more to have the turbo parts from there to rebuld ..

 

$500 each plus inport tax/dute so give'n take about £900 total

i can have both of these turbos rebuilt for 600 to same spec with warrantie

 

what type of compressor/thrust wheels do the t28s have ?

Is that £600 each?? have you checked.I was getting quotes of £750 each 5 years ago.And that depends if yours are any good.The biggest problem is the exhaust housing which cracks around the wastegate seat.The housings are hard to come by and ive seen several sets scrapped because of this.Id be wary of tubs rebuilt that cheap.

nope thats for the pair ... all ready ad a price for my other project ..

Sound chocolate then,id be well wary.Remember the warranty covers the turbos only.Not any other damage or removing the engine after.I used Turbo Dynamics for years and a basic rebuild was £300 each. And they are a reputable dealer ask Smithy on here.

I had a pair re-conned by them a few years back , cost me around £500 that was with one new compressor wheel being fitted , only lasted about three years before they were smoking again !!

Prices dropping,

£180 for a Audi k04 rebuilt from turbo dynamics !

will give them a call on monday ..

does any one know the Turbo Model Number for Auto & Manual's

ive also always used turbo dynamics although there wizard went back to new zealand or pakistan not sure which lol

just spoke to them and there wanting 450+vat ... what a joke

 

just need the turbo model numbers so can ring up midland's ..

tbh they might be one of the most expensive but build quality and aftersales service is great plus they actually honour their warranties !
